Following its announcement during Nintendo’s Switch 2 Direct in April, Drag x Drive now has a public release date scheduled for later this year. Drag x Drive will officially arrive on August 14 on the Nintendo Switch 2 for $20.
This announcement originated from Nintendo’s official social media platforms, revealing that Drag x Drive will launch as a Switch 2 exclusive. It’s available for pre-order now, with the title releasing at $19.99, $16.99, or your regional equivalent.
Drag x Drive will be available as a digital-only title through Nintendo’s eShop. No physical copies will be available.
Drag x Drive is a multiplayer sports game developed and published by Nintendo where you play as a robotic basketball player in a wheelchair. It takes advantage of the Switch 2’s dual Joy-Con mouse hybrid by allowing you to control each wheel individually, letting you experience pushing the wheels, turning, and trying out some trick shots once you become familiar with its mechanics. You’ll also be able to use motion controls to shoot hoops by flicking your Joy-Cons upward, raising your arms to send signals to your teammates, and clapping if you want to show good sportsmanship.
With it being a multiplayer sports game, you can experience it with up to two other teammates during 3v3 matches. That way, if you want to give someone a high five or find creative ways to show off against the other team, you have free rein to do so, knowing you’ll be up against other people.
Drag x Drive arrives a few months after the Switch 2’s original release on June 5. With the Switch 2’s launch came releases like Mario Kart World, the console’s Welcome Tour, and upgrades for both Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild. We’re also getting Donkey Kong Bananza on July 17, with games like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment having unknown release dates.
