The player count for Dragon Age: The Veilguard has jumped by a staggering 1,525.88%. Dragon Age: The Veilguard first hit the scene last year after years of anticipation. While Dragon Age: The Veilguard earned mostly positive reviews, it was also criticized for its dialogue and tone compared to previous entries in the fan-favorite franchise. Ultimately, this backlash led to Dragon Age: The Veilguard failing to meet commercial expectations and support for the game ended not long after launch.
Since launch, EA has made a concerted effort to get Dragon Age: The Veilguard into the hands of as many players as possible. Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been heavily discounted in sales, and it has also been featured as a free PS Plus game. The latest move saw Dragon Age: The Veilguard join the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate lineup, and that in turn has contributed to a massive player count spike for the game.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Player Count is Up By 1,525.88%
As reported by TrueAchievements, Dragon Age: The Veilguard‘s player count is up by 1,525.88% since joining Game Pass. Additionally, the game has climbed to become the 33rd most-played Xbox game of the week. While an exact player count number is unavailable, this goes to show that there are many fans who were holding out for Dragon Age: The Veilguard to hit a service like Game Pass. Now, how many Game Pass subscribers will stick with The Veilguard to completion remains to be seen, but it’s encouraging that so many people have decided to check it out, especially when one considers how stacked Game Pass has been lately.
While some fans may not be happy with certain choices made in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, it’s still a very well-polished action-RPG with engaging combat, a story full of memorable moments, and eye-popping visuals. I personally had a great time with The Veilguard, and while it may not be my top Dragon Age game (nothing beats Origins, in my opinion), it’s certainly worth a playthrough or two.
BioWare fans that have yet to check out Dragon Age: The Veilguard should definitely make sure to play it while it’s available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate if they’re unwilling to purchase it outright. It brings closure to lingering Dragon Age plot threads and can be a good way to tide oneself over while waiting for the new Mass Effect game. The new Mass Effect is next from BioWare now that The Veilguard is out and done, and so fans can expect information on it to start coming to light in the months and years ahead.
