The Cord End is a random legendary item inside this co-op-focused game. It is a “carefully woven cord” that belonged to “young girls who were housed in a place that was meant as an eternal secret,” according to the item description. It also states that it will grant you entry to “somewhere.” Unfortunately, the Cord doesn’t tell you what it opens or where the other part is located on the map.

This mysterious legendary item can be found in a number of places. Unfortunately, since this is a random item, there isn’t a guaranteed way to obtain it. However, it does seem to pop up most often in the locations listed below:

In treasure chests.
Dropped from some enemies and bosses.
In Nightreign churches on the ground or inside boxes.
On altars.
In breakable boxes around the map.

The Cord End only works on one door, and that door’s location is stationary on the map. It is just north of the castle in the center of the map, inside the trench; it will be found along the eastern wall. This was discovered by Twitter user Byf60V.

If you interact with the mysterious door while you don’t have the Cord End in hand, it will tell you that it will only open if you “wield merit.” Use the Cord End item on the door to find a tunnel hidden inside; there will be an Elden Ring Nightreign item on the ground to pick up that will help you on your quest to kill the Night Lords.
