Epic Games Store reveals its free games — every day for the rest of 2025

Epic Games Store’s daily giveaways continue through the rest of the year

The Epic Games Store’s latest free mystery game has been revealed. Until 11 a.m. EST on Dec. 22, Sorry We’re Closed will be available to claim for free at Epic.

Sorry We’re Closed is a survival horror game that mixes first-person shooting with fixed camera segments designed to stoke nostalgia for the horror games of yore. Players have praised its trippy, surreal visuals and solid story, leading to an “overwhelmingly positive” rating on Steam. After the Indie Game Awards rescinded Clair Obscur: Expedition 33‘s award for Best Debut Game over developer Sandfall Interactive’s use of generative AI in development, the show’s organizers say Sorry We’re Closed will now receive that award. If that’s not worth checking the game out, I’m not sure what is.

Typically, we know what game Epic is giving away a week in advance. However, during the holiday season, Epic literally wraps the game in mystery; the thumbnails on the Epic Games Store just show an image of a wrapped holiday present (complete with a bow on top). In 2024, the Epic Games Store gave away more than a dozen games in the two weeks leading into the new year, many of which were terrific, including Dredge, Control, and Sifu.

If you want to pick up the Epic free game, all you need to do is log in to the Epic Games Store and claim it. The free mystery games are free for 24 hours, and reset each day at 11 a.m. EST, when the next mystery game will be revealed. We’ll be updating this story regularly as new games cycle in and out of availability.

For context, here’s a list of games the Epic Games Store has made free in December 2025:

  • Blood West (Dec. 20)
  • Eternights (Dec. 19)
  • Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel (Dec. 18)
