Finally, some news from Arrowhead! You’ve probably noticed that the dev team has been awfully quiet over the last several weeks. The last patch was issued on April 1, four weeks ago. Since then, no one has addressed what or when the players should expect. Well, until now. Following the CEO’s impromptu Q&A, the community became seriously frustrated with the lack of communication and constant teasing of fixes and new content. So, probably due to the community pressure, the Helldivers 2 Community Manager was finally allowed to divulge some information about the timeline and the delay of the next Warbond.
The Community Manager Shares a Vague Timeline and Announces a Warbond Delay
On April 29, after almost a month of radio silence, the devs shared some concrete info. Baskinator, the Community Manager, posted an announcement on the official Discord channel.
The CM noted: “Greetings, Helldivers! A quick update from us. We know it’s been a while since our last update, fear not—we are cooking! You may have noticed that the gap between our major updates and Warbond releases is a little longer this time. But we’re happy to say we’ll be announcing our next Warbond on May 8, and there will be more exciting news to come not long after”.
She added: “We won’t stand on ceremony too much in revealing what that Warbond might be, but you’ll hear more from us soon. Until then: stand up straight, polish those boots, and keep that uniform in tip-top condition, Helldivers. You’ll be needing them for the fight to come”.

Helldivers were quick to do the math! If the announcement is going to be made on May 8, a Thursday, that probably means the Warbond is scheduled for May 15. The last Warbond, the Borderline Justice, dropped on March 20.
The Devs Are Cooking New Ways to Improve Communication With the Helldivers 2 Community
Obviously, the Helldivers 2 community isn’t happy about the delay of the Warbond, nor the vague timeline that the Community Manager gave. Although, it’s quite clear that the problem lies in the lack of communication rather than any kind of delay. For almost a month, we’ve seen the player base get excited every Tuesday, expecting an update, the rest of the Illuminate, or anything that would improve their experience. However, week after week, the players end up being disappointed.
So, even before the CM made this announcement, the devs tried to calm the community down. Baskinator (the CM) and Jojo (the QA Lead) spent some time talking with the players via Discord and explained that they were trying to find better ways to communicate more.
Jojo noted: “We’re looking into ways of sourcing community bugs outside of the ticket system we have. We’re cooking up ways to present more information to you about existing issues and some other things”.

Baskinator talked about wanting to interact more with the player base. She mentioned patch notes in the form of videos and wanting to continue The Chronicles of J.O.E.L. However, she isn’t allowed to share a lot of information with the players. She stated: “We also struggle with it, and we do ask if we can communicate more, though I know that doesn’t really help to say. I wish I could just share more easily”.

So, dear Helldiver, we’d love to say we had some better news, but it seems that for now we all have to be patient. At the time of writing this article, there is around an hour left until the end of the Major Order. Let’s shift our focus to finishing it, as the players are so close! We’ll meet you on Fenir III. For Liberty and Super Earth.
