Nintendo Switch is set to lose one of its exclusive games, Disney Illusion Island, as the platformer has been confirmed for a launch across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox systems on May 30, 2025. Disney Illusion Island originally came out for the Switch on July 28, 2023.
Developed by Dlala Studios, Disney Illusion Island is a 2D side-scrolling game featuring Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, and Goofy. The Disney Games-published title revolves around these characters making their way through various obstacles and challenging bosses scattered throughout Monoth Island. The player also has the option to experience this platforming adventure with up to three friends, thanks to the game’s local co-op support. After rolling out to a mixed reception less than two years ago, Disney Illusion Island is finally headed to more platforms later this year, making the game accessible to new audiences.

Disney is a legendary producer of classic films, from world-famous animations to the MCU, but their catalogue of video games is robust as well.
Disney Illusion Island announced a May 30 release date for its arrival on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The forthcoming release will contain the base game and the free DLCs released so far, Keeper Up and Mystery in Monoth, alongside a new DLC titled Cave Adventuring Scavenger Hunt (C.A.S.H.). The newly revealed additional content will add Scrooge McDuck to the fray and will also be available for players on the Switch. Moreover, the game’s physical edition, which comes with a bundled poster, has also been announced to hit the shelves on the aforementioned date in North America and on June 27 in Europe. This particular edition, which is up for pre-orders at USD 29.99, will only roll out for those looking to indulge in the Disney Illusion Island experience on PlayStation and Xbox.
Disney Illusion Island PS5, Xbox, PC Release Date
While the imminent multi-platform launch of Disney Illusion Island depletes the list of exclusive titles on Nintendo platforms, fans of the hybrid console may not be too bothered by the change, courtesy of the flurry of exciting announcements made over the past week. On the one hand, there is the Switch 2 with Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Kirby Air Riders. On the other hand, there are still more major Nintendo exclusives coming to Switch later this year, such as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
Going multi-platform normally helps the game’s sales and adds to its popularity. Keeping that in mind, it looks fair to assume that the teams at Dlala Studios and Disney will hope that their game crossing over to new platforms helps boost its commercial performance. At the same time, it may also be worth seeing if the forthcoming release, with all its additional items, could improve on the critical reception that Disney Illusion Island‘s Switch port received.
