In the lead-up to the launch of Resident Evil Requiem on February 27, an early leak has revealed a first look at the previously announced Fortnite character skin of Grace Ashcroft, one of the two playable characters in the game and the newest protagonist in the legendary Resident Evil franchise, which is supposedly dropping in the Epic Games Store on February 28. The collaboration between Fortnite and Resident Evil Requiem follows other beloved team-ups that introduced Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine from the franchise’s first entry and later Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2.
Many gaming fans recognize Resident Evil as one of the most prolific survival horror game series of all time, so it should come as no surprise that Capcom and Epic Games have joined forces to once again bring a powerhouse IP to the massively popular Fortnite. The battle royale game has made a reputation for introducing major franchises from across gaming, music, entertainment, and even sports for fans to enjoy in the form of character and weapon skins, special items, new maps, and more. With all eyes focused on the launch of Resident Evil Requiem, it seems the perfect time for Epic Games to bring another hero of the horror franchise into the vibrant fray of Fortnite.

Resident Evil Requiem Grace Ashcroft Fortnite Skin
According to respected leaker HYPEX, Grace Ashcroft from Resident Evil Requiem will be joining Fortnite on February 28, and audiences can get a first look at her official character skin. Fans who pre-order or purchase Resident Evil Requiem via the Epic Games Store will get a free download for Grace in Fortnite. It is key to note that players will need to make sure they use the same Epic account they use to play Fortnite when pre-ordering or purchasing Resident Evil Requiem to ensure they have access to the Grace Ashcroft skin without any additional charges within Fortnite. HYPEX claims that those who plan to purchase the skin separately will have from 7pm ET on February 28 until 6:59pm ET on March 7 to grab Grace Ashcroft, though anyone who picks up Requiem on EGS after February 27 will be able to get the skin.
For those who were hoping for Resident Evil 2‘s Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield to make a return alongside Grace Ashcroft in Fortnite, HYPEX has a somewhat unfortunate prediction. The leaker claims that Leon and Claire “might not return” in tandem with Grace’s debut, due to the fact that the character skins for Leon and Claire are “currently still not updated.” Fortnite‘s next major update was delayed to March 19, so there is still a chance that the powerhouse duo from RE2 could show up several weeks after Grace. With Leon returning in Resident Evil Requiem, fans are hoping he will at least get a Fortnite appearance with Grace, but this may require sacrificing seeing Claire again anytime soon. Another possibility is that Grace, Leon, and Claire are all re-released together at a much later date.
Fortnite continues to unite a diverse array of fandoms, drawing in audiences from K-Pop to survival horror to South Park and more. The sheer variety of Fortnite pop culture collaborations has undeniably helped the game to grow, with many picking up Fortnite just to experience their favorite franchise in a new way. Only time will tell just how many characters from Resident Evil and other series will make their debut in Fortnite, but the fans are certainly keeping their fingers crossed for more unexpected character skins and new additions. Resident Evil Requiem officially launches across all platforms on February 27, and players can look forward to Grace Ashcroft joining Fortnite beginning February 28.
