Fortnite Quests For Chapter 7 Season 1: How To Earn Lots Of XP And All Free Cosmetics

A new season of Fortnite means a whole new slate of quests to help you grind your way through the battle pass–and you’re gonna need it, because progression through the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 battle pass is slower than it was during Simpsons season. With these quests to give you a boost, and with this guide to help you get through those quests as quickly as possible, you’ll have those superstyles unlocked in no time. Relatively speaking.

Meanwhile, Fortnite’s crossover with South Park is now in full swing, and it came with a free event pass and quests that will net you three account levels’ worth of XP. You can read about those South Park quests here.

Let’s take a look at the quests.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 Weekly Highlights quests – 12K XP each

Each week will add six quests to the Weekly Highlights quest list. Each of these quests, which must be done in Battle Royale or Zero Build, will be worth 12k XP, with every third completed quest granting an additional 25k. You can earn that bonus XP 12 times. Only the first set of these is available now–Week 2 quests are currently slated to drop on December 11.

Week 1-2 quests

Travel 500 distance while flying with a wingsuit

The wingsuit mobility item fires you straight up into the air and lets you glide gently back down to the ground. Depending on your elevation when you first use it, this quest can be done in one or two flights. But since each wingsuit includes ten charges, you shouldn’t have any trouble completing this one with a single wingsuit.

Travel 500 distance while boosting in a vehicle

Use the boost on a car or SUV a lot. Golf carts can’t boost, so don’t bother with those for this quest.

Outlast 40 players without taking storm damage

This is easily done in a single round, as you’ll just need to avoid the storm (and death) for the first five minutes or so of a match.

Eliminate three opponents with the Iron Pump Shotgun or Grenades

Both of these items have a chance to drop from any and all sources of loot.

Travel 250 distance while sprinting with an assault rifle equipped

This quest requires you to actually have your assault rifle in the equipped slot while you sprint–simply having it in your inventory won’t count.

Break glass with a pickaxe

Punch any glass window with a pickaxe to complete this quest.

Become a boss by collecting a defeated Boss’s token

Defeat one of several boss NPCs around the island, and then claim the token they drop to literally become them and gain extra health and shields and some of their special powers.

Destroy 15 props with explosions

The props mentioned here can be found at any of the movie sets around the island. The most obvious place to find them will be at Sus Studios, but there are smaller studio lots all over the map as well. You’ll need to use grenades to blow up 15 props.

Eliminate 5 opponents with the Twin Hammer Shotguns

Enemy players and NPCs alike count for this quest.

Collect 3 weapons at Painted Palms

Go to Painted Palms, and pick up three different weapons. You cannot pick up and drop the same weapon for this.

Blow up a vehicle, then sprint away

Any vehicle will do, including parked ones that haven’t been touched by any players.

Weeks 3-5 quests

Complete 12 quests from this batch for Cat Holloway – 1 level of XP

You’ll need to do every single quest in Weeks 3-5 to earn this.

Meet with Cat Holloway to start weapons practice

Visit the Cat Holloway NPC in the southernmost house in Humble Hills, and click through dialogue to complete the quest.

Eliminate three opponents with a hired character

You’ll need to hire one of the various NPCs around the island to fight with you, and then defeat three enemies (players and other NPCs both count). You don’t have to get all three with the same NPC hireling, and the NPC doesn’t have to kill anyone itself.

Search 15 ammo containers

Do literally what the quest says, over as many matches as you need.

You’ll find the shooting gallery on the park’s main drag just north of the park entrance, and you can start the mini-game by pressing the button in the middle. Shoot the targets that stay still and avoid the ones that move left and right, and you’ll complete this quest in just one round.

Damage opponents while aiming with sighted weapons (500 points)

This refers to aiming down sights with a scoped gun, which means the sniper rifle or the Holo Rush SMG now that the Deadeye Assault Rifle has been vaulted.

Collect 10 rare or better weapons

Simply pick up 10 different blue, purple, or gold-quality weapons. No need to hold onto them for any amount of time.

Mark five healing items for your squad

Use the squad ping system to mark any sort of healing item, whether it be shield pots, sprinklers, med packs, bandages, vegetables, or Cheesy Poofs.

Damage Opponents within 20 meters while hip-firing (500 points)

Unlike a similar previous quest, this one requires you to damage enemies (NPCs and players both count) without aiming down the sights.

Talk to two of your fans and sign autographs

Your fans are the NPCs who live in TipTop Terrace, Lethal Labs, Classified Canyon, and Painted Palms. But you only need to visit two of them, not all four, and click through their quest dialogue.

Build or destroy 5 objects in 10 seconds

Either method for completing this quest is easily done without any real effort, but you can be even more efficient if you destroy objects by building structures over them.

Hit opponents 10 times while in a bush

Hide in a bush, and then shoot somebody. Hitting somebody ten times, or hitting ten people one time each, will complete the quest as long as you were in the bush when you fired your shots.

Ride the ferris wheel at Cartmanland

Walking up the ferris wheel gives you the option to attach yourself to it–doing so completes the quest. Jumping off the ferris wheel throws you up in the air and triggers your glider, so it’s perfectly safe to do so from any height.

Headshot an opponent with a sniper rifle

You only need to shoot one head for this one, and NPC heads do count for this.

Weeks 6-7 quests

Defeat 5 players that are bosses – 1 level of XP

You and/or your squadmates will need to take down five enemy players who have taken on boss medallions. Fortunately, these players tend to be easy to find, since their location is marked on everyone’s mini-map.

Damage opponents (200 points) within 5 seconds after using or being under the effect of Stealth Splash

Stealth Splash is a new healing item, like the Chug Splash, which makes you briefly invisible–though you’ll lose the effect if you sprint or shoot your guns. This quest is suggesting that you use the Stealth Splash to spring some ambushes.

Land at Painted Palms or Ripped Tides and interact with characters three times

You don’t need to do all three in the same match, but interacting with characters only counts toward this quest in matches where you landed at one of the named locations at the start of the round.

Scout three new locations for Kingston

Four possible locations are marked on your map when you track this quest–south of Clawsy Lodge, south of Lethal Labs, east of Classified Canyon, and northeast of Painted Palms. Visit three of these marked spots to complete the quest.

Search 15 chests before the first storm closes

The close of the first storm happens about three minutes into a match. Don’t worry, you don’t need to loot all 15 in the same round.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 Battle Pass quests

This season’s battle pass has more items on it than any previous one, thanks to an extra set of styles for Cat Holloway, Carter Wu, and Dark Voyager that can be earned by completing questlines in specific game modes. Dark Voyager requires standard Battle Royale, Carter requires you to play Reload, and Cat Holloway’s bonus styles come from Blitz. These new styles only exist because of these quests–they weren’t moved from a different part of the pass or anything like that.

To start these quests, you first have to unlock both of the base styles for the skin in question. For Cat Holloway, for example, you’ll need to unlock both the standard Cat Holloway style, as well as the Silver Screen Cat style, before you can begin to work on her objectives.

You have all season to do these, but a skilled player can complete each set in a couple hours. So there’s no reason to sweat it if some of these seem difficult. You’ve got until March to do them.

Cat Holloway battle pass quests

To unlock the Media Blitz Cat cosmetics, you’ll need to complete seven quests in Blitz Royale, but you’ll only start with three of them. Complete all three to receive three more quests. Completing all three of those quests will then unlock one final quest

Batch 1: Emote at named locations in three different matches

It doesn’t matter which locations you use, and you can use the same spot each time if you’d like. But you’ll need to emote in three separate matches–emoting in three different spots in the same match will not do it.

Batch 1: Collect three exotic or mythic weapons from eliminated players

This is fairly simple task in Blitz Royale, because the mode grants exotic and mythic weapons to players directly during gameplay, meaning everybody has one or two of them by the time the endgame rolls around. For the purposes of this equest, it doesn’t matter who eliminated the player who dropped the loot–stealing loot from other people’s kills also counts.

Batch 1: Enter a rift within 10 seconds of hitting a player

Shoot or otherwise damage an enemy player, and then quickly jump into one of the many rifts that spawn during each match.

Batch 2: Have items of four different rarities in your inventory

You’ll need to have the items in your inventory at the same time, but this will likely happen without you thinking about it, since utility items and healing items have rarities and also count for this.

Batch 2: Damage players (1,500 points) with mythic or exotic items within 15 meters

This one is as straightforward as it sounds–shoot players with exotics or mythics from close range until you’ve done 1,500 points of damage. You’ll receive those types of weapons automatically when you survive late into a round.

Batch 2: Headshot players from above 10 times with Epic or better weapons

Epic rarity means purple, and the best way to go about this one is to fight from rooftops.

Final quest: Win a Victory Royale

Win a round of Blitz Royale to finish Cat Holloway’s questline.
