Fortnite’s worst kept secret–the upcoming Simpsons-themed season, which leaked back in the spring–is fast approaching, and at this point, Epic is officially teasing it. But there’s still a little bit of time left in Chapter 6 Season 4, and the final full season of Chapter 6 is going out with a bang. That is, we’re getting a live season finale event in Fortnite Battle Royale this weekend that will usher in the all-Simpsons season. Here’s what you need to know about Fortnite’s next big live event.
When is the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 finale live event taking place?
The live event is slated to begin on Saturday, November 1 at 8 AM PT / 11AM ET. That’s three hours earlier than the usual start time for these things, so plan accordingly. After the event ends, Fortnite will go offline for maintenance in order to deploy the season update.
When will the Fortnite Simpsons season start?
Epic Games is planning for the new season to start on Saturday evening at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET. Fortnite is expected to be offline for about five hours. But that start time is not firm–it could start earlier or later, depending on how maintenance goes.
How to participate in the Fortnite Simpsons live event
There won’t be any confusion about how to join up for the event on Saturday, because when the event starts at 11 AM ET it will be the only mode in Fortnite available to play. You may want to boot up early, though, in case there’s a login queue.
Fortnite season finale event tease
Epic and The Simpsons have both begun teasing the event with a small video that shows Simpsonized versions of Jonesy and Hope being abducted by Kang and Kodos.
What will happen during the event?
We don’t really know any concrete details about what’ll happen during the event, but since the final story quest of the season pointed us to the recently sprouted Treehouse of Horror at the edge of the island, whatever it is should take place there.
The live event is not, however, exclusively a teaser for the Simpsons season. It is also the end of the Chapter 6 Season 4 story, which saw a bunch of bugs invade the island before we ran them off with Megazord–and then Doja Cat and Jason Voorhees showed up. So while we know the event will bring the Simpsons into the game, we don’t know much about how we’ll get from here to there.
Will there be any rewards for showing up to the Fortnite x Simpsons event?
Nothing has been announced yet, but it’s likely there will be a free item or two granted to anyone who logs in on Saturday for the event. Our money is on the Kang and Kodos glider that was added to the game in the last major update, since the flavor text on that item is a joke about them being left out of the battle pass.
What to expect from Fortnite’s Simpsons season
There will be a Simpsons-themed battle pass and a takeover of the map, though we don’t yet know how extensive the changes will be. You can read all the details we currently know about the new season here.
