Fortnite X South Park Quests: How To Ride 5 Rides At Cartmanland And Complete Every Quest

During Fortnite Chapter 6, most every cosmetic you could unlock from a pass or for free was earned simply by gaining XP in any mode. But Epic has returned to the old ways in Chapter 7, with unlockable cosmetics that require completing specific quests. Case in point is the Born in Chaos mini pass for Fortnite’s new South Park crossover, which comes with a series of quests that you’ll need to complete in order to unlock the otherwise-free cosmetics.

That means that if you want to get those Terrance and Phillip doll pickaxes, you’ll actually need to pay attention to these quests. Some of them you’ll certainly complete by accident if you play Fortnite regularly, but others will require a bit of conscious effort. And we’ll make it just a smidge easier by handling the thinking part for you–which is to say that we’ll explain each quest in detail below.

All of these quests must be completed in Battle Royale or Zero Build, and they provide pass progress only. The quests themselves don’t offer XP directly, but there are three level skips you can unlock as you progress the event pass, and you can already earn one of them (worth 80,000 XP) by completing five quests. Completing four quests from a batch will award a Memberberry–collecting six Memberberries awards the Imaginationland Airship glider.

You must earn the Memberberry by completing four quests from one batch of quests before you can move on to the next. This means you’ll need to complete four quests from Part 1 before you can start working on any of the Part 2 quests, and then you’ll need to complete four of the Part 2 quests before you can move on from there, and so on. Each batch of quests is time-gated to release every few days until the end of the event, and right now we have the first two batches of quests.

Let’s take a look at what we’ve gotta do.

Fortnite Born In Chaos Part 1 quests

Cartmanland is sure to be a popular landing spot for the duration of Fortnite’s new South Park event.

Ride 5 different rides or eliminate 5 players at Cartmanland

Since Cartmanland will be a hotspot for the duration of this event, you shouldn’t have any problem finding victims to try to defeat. But if you’d prefer the nonviolent route, you can ride five rides instead. These are the rides you’ll find at Cartmanland:

  • The roller coaster that goes around the entire park
  • The ferris wheel in the center
  • The big waterslide in the northwest corner
  • The lazy river that goes all the way around the park
  • The shooting gallery directly north of the park entrance

All you need to do with these is briefly interact with them. For example, simply starting up the shooting gallery game is enough–you don’t need to actually play it. You’ll need to interact with all five of them for the quest to complete.

Hit opponents with SMGs 100 times

This one is exactly as simple as it sounds. Just use an SMG to hit enemies (NPCs and players both count) with 100 SMG shots. Each bullet that lands on an enemy counts, so it’ll take a few fights to complete this one.

After getting knocked, eliminate a player

What this quest is saying is that you’ll need to get a kill at any point during a match after you’ve been knocked or eliminated yourself. This includes after being knocked and rezzed by your teammates or with a self-res, or even being eliminated entirely and then rebooted, either by your teammates or using the new Kenny token, which gives you one free reboot immediately after you’re eliminated. It might be easier in a group, but it’s certainly doable in solo as well.

Become a boss

When you defeat a boss NPC around the map this season, they drop a token that allows you to take their appearance and special abilities. This quest requires you to pick up one of those tokens.

Use Flushers in three different matches

Flushers are the port-a-potties that are all over the place, often letting players travel through a pipe to another port-a-potty nearby. You just need to use them across several matches.

Damage opponents (200 points) within 10 seconds of swimming

Shoot the bad guys (NPCs and players both count) right after you jump out of the water. One fully healed and shielded player is enough–if you’ve got the aim, anyway. But you don’t need to get all 200 hit points in one encounter.

Fortnite Born In Chaos Part 2 quests

Damage opponents (750 points) at Carmine Lodge, Clawsy Lodge, or Tiptop Terrace.

Fight some bad guys (NPCs and players both count) at any of those three locations. Carmine Lodge, the only one that’s not a named location on your map, can be found in the mountains just southeast of Lethal Labs. 750 points of damage is 3-4 fully shielded players, depending on whether you’re playing Build or Zero Build.

Gain shields from Slurp Juice, Shield Potion, or Chug Jug (350 points)

This is the sort of quest that you’ll definitely complete just by playing the game, because shielding up is such a fundamental part of Battle Royale. But if you want to cheese it anyway, the best way to do so would be to drink one of the listed shield items, then damage yourself with an explosion using a grenade or a gas pump, then drink more shields–repeat as needed.

Thank the Bus Driver three times

To thank the Bus Driver, you’ll need to hit your emote button (by default that’s down on the d-pad for controllers, and B on keyboard) before you drop from the bus at the start of the match. It only counts one per match, but you can do this one very quickly by joining a match only long enough to thank the bus driver, and then returning to the lobby immediately after so you can do it again. But since it’ll take multiple rounds to complete the whole questline anyway, there’s no reason to do that.

Emote on the stage at Cartmanland

The Cartmanland stage is on the east side of Cartmanland’s main drag, directly across from the entrance to the ferris wheel. There’s a large cut-out of Kenny wearing a blond wig on the stage, so it’s hard to miss.

Maintain a speed below 40 in a vehicle for 30 seconds

For this quest you’ll need to drive or ride in a vehicle that stays under 40 but doesn’t stop for 30 seconds. With the usual Fortnite sedans and SUVs, it’s easy to exceed 40 on accident, so the best vehicles to use for this quest are the drivable reboot vans, or golf carts.

Use the Stick of Truth

The Stick of Truth has a random chance to appear late in each round of Battle Royale, and the person who gets to it first will have the power to determine where the final circle will close. Having the chance to use the Stick of Truth is a real crapshoot, since it’s impossible to predict where it will spawn. They key is to respond quickly when you see the notice that the Stick of Truth is spawning–pull up the map to see where it is, and if it’s reasonably close then you should start running. Remember that the quest is to use the Stick, not just obtain it, so even if somebody beats you there, you may be able to eliminate them and take it from them if you’re fast enough.

If you’re playing in a squad and one of your teammates uses the Stick, it’ll count for your whole group. If you’re finding this one frustrating, just remember that you can earn all the available rewards without completing every single quest.
