Genesis Tree Crafting Guide in Path of Exile 3.27

In Path of Exile 3.27 Keepers League, the Genesis Tree is a league-exclusive crafting system that is unlocked after players successfully defend Ailith, First of the Keepers, from the Hiveborn invasion during the mission “Into the Breach” in the Mud Flats in Act 1. After Ailith helps close the breach, players can enter the Monastery of the Keepers to find the Genesis Tree.

The Genesis Tree can help players craft all sorts of items, including equipment, currency, and even uniques. However, the process of crafting with the Genesis Tree can be a bit confusing for those who are unfamiliar with it. Here’s how it works.

How Does Genesis Tree Crafting Work in Path of Exile 3.27

The Genesis Tree crafting system is split into five “Wombs,” which essentially function as item spawners. The process of spawning items from the Genesis Tree is called birthing, which can be done by slotting in “Wombgifts” into appropriate receptacles in the Genesis Tree interface and sacrificing a certain amount of Graftblood to turn that Wombgift into a real item.

CTRL + Left Click on a Wombgift while in the Genesis Tree menu will instantly birth that Wombgift.

A full list of all Wombs, Wombgifts, and what they can turn into is shown in the table below.

After you visit the Monastery of the Keepers for the first time, a fast-travel icon will appear on your map screen, above the hideout icon. You can use this to travel to here at any time from any Waypoint.

How to Get Wombgifts in Path of Exile 3.27

Wombgifts can be obtained as rewards for doing Breach content, which includes regular Unstable Breaches as well as “Defend Ailith from Hiveborn” Breaches. There are five types of Wombgifts (detailed above), and which type you get from doing Breaches is random.

The item level of a Wombgift dictates the ilevel of the birthed item. This means that to obtain high-level equipment, you’ll need high-level Wombgifts, which will drop from appropriately leveled Breaches.

The Mysterious Item Womb (unlocked after reaching the endgame) can spawn Wombgifts of other types.

How to Get Graftblood in Path of Exile 3.27

Graftblood is also obtained as a reward for doing Breach content. The more enemies you defeat and the higher your level of completion, the more Graftblood you’ll be able to obtain per encounter. Graftblood is stored in equipped Grafts, and the amount you have stored is visible both underneath said Grafts and in the Genesis Tree crafting menu. The amount of Graftblood a Graft can store is dependent on the Graft’s item level, with higher-level Grafts having more Graftblood capacity.

If you remove a Graft with stored Graftblood or replace it with a Graft of another type, the stored Graftblood will be wasted. However, if you replace a Graft with another Graft of the same type, i.e., replace a Xophgraft with another Xophgraft, the stored Graftblood will be transferred over to the new Graft.

How to Increase Genesis Tree Level in Path of Exile 3.27

genesis skill tree in path of exile

At the beginning, players will only have two passive points to spend in the Genesis Tree. As they find and gift more Hiveborn body parts to the Genesis Tree, it grows stronger, granting more Genesis Tree Passive Skill Points that players can spend to customize and improve the crafting system.

The very first Genesis Tree gift is the Horned Skull, which is obtained after players defend Ailith from the Hiveborn for the very first time during the campaign and unlock the Genesis Tree. The remaining gifts can be obtained as random drops from Breach content throughout the campaign and in the endgame. Here are the details:
