Pursuing artifact farming routes is a healthy routine that Genshin Impact players need to adopt in order to smoothly survive through the game. This is mainly due to the constant need to collect artifact fodder to level up the 5-star artifacts that you plan to equip on your characters.
It’s more often than not that Genshin Impact players are left with a higher ratio of 5-star artifacts than lower-ranked ones due to constant farming. Having fodder on the side can make it easier, and this is especially true for new players entering the game.

New Fontaine Research Institute Artifact Route
This area is located in the Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy and starts at the very top of the map.
- Teleport to the waypoint shown in the first image and head left towards some boxes on the side of the road. You’ll be able to grab around two artifacts here.
- From there, keep going left and stick close to the mountain since you need to head towards the tower you see in the distance. Climb the wall of the tower and enter through the window. Now that you’re inside, just run around each floor and grab the artifacts from each glowing spot. Keep going all the way down, interacting with all the glowing spots.
- Next, exit from the tower’s lower level and glide all the way down to find some artifacts near the road. You need to break the tube for the investigation spot to reveal itself.
- From your previous position, head up the path and go towards another spot with these tubes. Break them to reveal the investigation spot and collect at least 4 artifacts from here.
- Teleport to the waypoint east of the New Fontaine Research Institute and head right towards the shoreline. There will be some boxes under a tree here, and interacting with them will give you some artifacts. Do be careful since it’s located near some enemies.
- From the previous position, head along the shoreline, and you’ll find another box with a glowing spot to interact with. There will be at least 2 boxes on your path.
- From the shoreline, turn left and head up the path towards the ruins you see. Climb the stairs and go towards the golden wheel on your right. You can claim an artifact from this investigation point.
- Now, go behind the wheel and glide against the wall on your right towards a box below you. This spot will also have some artifacts. You can then climb across and go to the other side since there will be another box with another investigation spot.
- From the previous point, glide down to the beach to find some boxes again and interact with them to get artifacts and mora.
