Genshin Impact Investigator of Ancient Ruins quest walkthrough

Investigator of Ancient Ruins in Genshin Impact is a short World Quest in the Fallingstar Fields. Completing it will help you find a way to enter the Great Volcano of Tollan

Here’s a brief guide on how to complete the Investigator of Ancient Ruins quest in Genshin Impact.

Quest location

Head to the Fallingstar Fields and approach the group of Hilichurls north of the teleport waypoint. This will automatically trigger the Investigator of Ancient Ruins quest in Genshin Impact. It is worth mentioning that completing this quest will also help you complete The Way Into the Mountain quest since both of them are connected.

Defeat the monsters

Approach the mobs and defeat them. There are only 3 Hilichurls, so you shouldn’t have any problems. Once that is done, a long cutscene will begin, and the quest will introduce you to 2 NPCs named Nzaya and Kimosi.

Clear the Abyssal monsters from the ruins

Once you’re done talking to the NPCs, head towards the ruins and defeat all the mobs near the entrance. Next, interact with the Tatankasaur Spiritscone and enter the small passage on the left side of the ruins. Keep moving ahead until you reach a dead end and find a small hole in the ground that you can use to enter the ruins.

Go deeper into the ruins to find several hilichurls and Exquisite Chests inside a large chamber. Defeat the mobs and interact with the chests to spawn the Abyssal enemies. Quickly defeat them and get an Exquisite Chest and 2 Precious Chest rewards.

Talk to the tribespeople

Finally, exit the ruins and meet Nzaya and Kimosi. This will trigger another cutscene and end the Investigator of Ancient Ruins quest in Genshin Impact. You will get 30 Primogems as a reward for completing the quest. Furthermore, this will trigger the Nahuatzin’s Leap quest, the next part in the Chosen of Dragons quest chain in Collective of Plenty.
