Summary
- Dahlia, the upcoming male character, will be a 4-Star Sword user in Genshin Impact Version 5.7.
- Dahlia’s concept art leaked two years ago, and he is expected to be released in Version 5.7.
- The community hopes Dahlia will be a Dendro character to introduce new Elemental Reactions in Version 5.7.
A recent leak from the Genshin Impact community has revealed that Dahlia, the upcoming male character from Mondstadt, will wield a Sword. While Genshin Impact hasn’t shied away from making dramatic changes to its gameplay in Natlan, it has mostly used new characters to accomplish it. Citlali elevated Melt to a new level, Varesa introduced a new take on Plunge, and now Escoffier is set to revitalize Freeze as a meta reaction.
Another pattern to these upcoming Genshin Impact characters is the fact that many of them have Support ability kits. Ifa, Mizuki, Iansan, and Escoffier are all examples of Support characters. While it’s too early to tell what role Dahlia will have when he makes his playable debut in Version 5.7, players can expect to see the Deacon of the Church of Favonius in the upcoming Archon Quest in Mondstadt.

Genshin Impact Leaks New Free Weapon for Update 5.6
A recent Genshin Impact leak reveals details about a new four-star bow that will be obtainable for free in the upcoming update 5.6.
Thanks to this appearance in the story, dataminers were able to correctly ascertain Dahlia’s weapon type. While his element remains unknown, according to Mero, Dahlia is a Sword user from Mondstadt, and will be released alongside Skirk in Version 5.7. Taking earlier leaks into account, Dahlia will almost certainly be a 4-Star character in Genshin Impact, as Kinich is expected to be the sole male 5-Star in the Natlan era. While this could undoubtedly disappoint many Genshin Impact players, recent 4-Star characters have been quite formidable. Between Ororon, Lan Yan, Iansan, and Ifa, Natlan seems to value its 4-Stars.
Genshin Impact: Who is Dahlia?
A 4-Star Sword user of an unknown element, Dahlia has plenty of options on how to contribute to Genshin Impact’s ever-evolving meta. If he turns out to be Hydro, he could become the element’s first Shield Support and a much-needed 4-Star. However, most players are hoping that he becomes Mondstadt’s first Dendro character in Genshin Impact, which could potentially open the door to legitimizing the new Elemental Reaction added to the Imaginarium Theater in Version 5.6.
Curiously, Dahlia’s concept art leaked two years ago. The Genshin Impact community was aware of the fact that Dahlia would join the playable cast at some point, and it seems that Version 5.7 will finally give the Deacon of the Church of Favonius his time to shine. While it remains to be seen if he will have any synergy with Skirk in Genshin Impact, players won’t have to wait long to see Dahlia in the game. Version 5.6 launches on May 7, 2025, while Version 5.7 is set to be released on June 18, 2025.
