“Get to Bore Rock!” A Side Quest Could Help Helldivers 2 Players Kill Billions of Enemies for the Latest Major Order

Helldivers were quite dissatisfied with the previous Major Order. Even though they won, this MO started a discourse about the lack of variety in the Illuminates ranks and raised awareness of J.O.E.L being in charge. Thankfully, Helldivers won’t have to think much about that in the upcoming days. The latest Major Order sends them to the bug and bot front, excluding the Squids this time, and giving the Helldivers 2 players a chance to complete a “side quest” for a boost.

The Major Order Sends Players to Secure Scraps and E-710

The new Major Order arrived on March 7. As always, a briefing arrived with it. In it, the High Command reflected on what Helldivers already knew about the Meridian Singularity, but also revealed a plan on how to stop it.

The scientists used the E-710 that the Helldivers secured while liberating Fori Prime, and had a breakthrough in their research. Now, the players already know that the Illuminate use the Dark Energy they extract from planets to move the Meridian Singularity. However, they don’t know the exact mechanism.

According to the latest research, the Squids are sending Dark Energy directly into the Singularity. So, the High Command came up with a brilliant idea to form a blockade around the Singularity. Since that would require a lot of scrap metal, and even more E-710, the Helldivers were ordered to secure these resources.

As always “securing resources” is code for killing bots for the scraps and bugs for the E-710. The High Command gave Helldivers 5 days to kill 1 billion bots (including 6 million Shredder Tanks) and 1,5 billion bugs (including 8 million Bile Titans).

There’s a twist! One that could actually help the players! A Strategic Alert revealed that some supply chain difficulties caused an increase in the Eagle Re-Arm times. This issue will be fixed. However, the liberation of Bore Rock would provide Helldivers with a supply node that would reverse the effect. Thus, if the players liberate Bore Rock, Eagle Re-Arm times would be 50% faster until the ond of the MO.

Helldivers Love the Idea of a Side Quest

Well, unfotunately, even though the Helldivers 2 community is doing well so far, this “side quest” to the Major Order will likely fail. It seems that Helldivers are having trouble picking just one planet when they have two fronts to choose from. At the time of writing this article, almost 40k players are online, but the planet with the most players on it is Darius II (around 10k). Surprisingly enough, around 5k players are on the Squid front, and only around 4k players are on Bore Rock.

Still, the Helldivers love the idea of a side quest or a Minor Order. Jason1143 noted: “Minor orders should exist, fighting and kills should do something even if not directly on the MO planets. Planets should have regions that matter so you can do stuff like attacking logistics for enemies elsewhere or weakening their defenses overtime. This is a good idea and I hope the devs keep it up”.

Even though this one might fail, side quests could reconcile bugdivers, botdivers, and even the Squid divers. It would be interesting to see a Major Order on one front with side quests on the other fronts. Still, for the time being, we’ll be diving on Bore Rock, so join us! For Liberty and Super Earth.
