It’s just so unfair! Season 2 started two weeks ago, and the community has been a bit overwhelmed by Emma Forst and all the changes. Now that the hype has started dying down, some Marvel Rivals players are finally getting to express their dissatisfaction with Mantis being nerfed.
Marvel Rivals Devs Nerfed a Popular Strategist
As if the situation with the Strategists wasn’t dire enough, the devs decided to make things a bit worse for Mantis fans. She was one of the Heroes that were nerfed on April 11, which went under the radar of many players.
This was revealed in the 20250411 Balance Post. The devs noted: “To emphasize strategy over speed, we’re modifying Mantis’ health and buff mechanics. Reduce base health from 275 to 250. Effects of Healing Flower and Allied Inspiration can be stacked, up to a maximum of 16 seconds”.

Mantis Isn’t Worth the Hustle Anymore
Many Marvel Rivals claim that the nerfed Mantis is basically unplayable. She doesn’t fit into any of the playstyles, and Mantis mains are simply devastated.
Racoon42 noted: “Mantis is now too weak to engage in the playstyle that makes her an effective strategist. Her optimal playstyle is mixing damage output, healing, and damage boosting as a mid-lane/off-angle healer. She cannot afford to stay in the backline because she simply cannot deliver the value she needs to in that position to justify picking her versus ANY other strategist”.
Another player, EddtheBoss, added: “Mantis’ projectiles feel off since season 2. I thought I was going crazy, but I’ve noticed other players have struggled to land headshots this season with Mantis”.
No-Day3652 stated: “I really liked Mantis as she was very much a jack of all trades character, could heal/ damage boost, get picks/ damage, and tank with her ult. Now she feels shoehorned into the ‘support’ role, and it’s just frustrating to play now”.
Thankfully, we aren’t Mantis mains, but we feel the pain. Today, it’s Mantis; tomorrow, it could be any other Hero. Hopefully, the devs will hear out these pleas. The good news is that they often listen to players’ requests. So, while you wait for Mantis to be buffed, enjoy the new mode; headshots have gotten much easier. See you out there.
