Guild Wars 2 Reveals Twitch Drops for Repentance Update

Guild Wars 2 just revealed a bunch of Twitch Drops to celebrate the upcoming Repentance update, including the Mini Lion Cub, Fuzzy Panda Hat bundle, and a bag slot expansion. By watching five hours of Guild Wars 2 on Twitch from March 11 through 16, fans can add these cosmetics, consumables, and account upgrades without even playing the game.

Recently, Guild Wars 2 revealed Repentance, the second major update of the Janthir Wilds expansion. The patch brings the Wayfinder to the Mistburned Barrens, the site of the ancient Mursaat ruins of Bava Nisos, as they continue the story where it left off after the Titan’s defeat in Guild Wars 2‘s Godspawn update.

To prepare players for this perilous journey, Guild Wars 2 has revealed some stellar items they can earn without even logging in. A new Twitch Drop campaign to celebrate the Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds expansion’s content update is set to begin on March 11, simultaneous to the launch of Repentance. From then until March 16, fans can watch up to five hours of any Guild Wars 2 streamers on Twitch to earn the Lion Cub miniature, the Fuzzy Panda Hat bundle, and a Bag Slot Expansion that can be used to upgrade a single character’s inventory.

How to Get Guild Wars 2 Repentance Twitch Drops

  • Connect one’s Guild Wars 2 and Twitch accounts
  • Watch any streamers in the Guild Wars 2 category on Twitch from March 11 at 9 AM PT through March 16 at 11:59 PM PT to earn the following cosmetics and in-game items:

    • 1.5 hours: Mini Lion Cub
    • 3.5 hours: Fuzzy Panda Hat, Upgrade Extractor, 2x Heroic Boosters
    • 5 hours: Bag Slot Expansion
  • Once complete, claim the rewards from the Twitch Drops inventory.
  • Items will be sent via in-game mail upon the next login.

The Mini Lion Cub and the Fuzzy Panda Hat are both items that were previously available from the Gem Store in Guild Wars 2 for 400 and 200 Gems respectively, or via Black Lion Statuettes and similar offers. Likewise, Bag Expansions cost 400 Gems each, providing much-needed bag space for a single Guild Wars 2 character. At a cost of $5 for 400 gems, and when combined with the two Heroic Boosters and Upgrade Extractor included in the Fuzzy Panda Hat bundle, these Twitch Drops have a cash value of about $15.

Though players must own Janthir Wilds to enter the Mistburned Barrens and experience most of the Repentance update, they do not need it to earn these Twitch Drops. That said, purchasing the Guild Wars 2 expansion unlocks their Homestead, grants full access to seasonal rewards in the Wizard’s Vault, and lets them travel to the zones from Janthir Wilds, plus the Godspawn and Repentance updates, so players might still want to consider picking it up anyway.
