Halo Master Chief Collection Coming to PlayStation 5 Says Insider

Halo has always been an Xbox exclusive and one of their most popular game series. But it looks like one of the gaps is about to get bridged, as Halo Master Chief Collection is coming to PlayStation 5, according to an insider.

Halo series launched back in 2001 with Halo: Combat Evolved and it has six major installments to date, as well as a lot of spin-offs and other associated forms of media. It follows the adventures of the iconic Master Chief John-117, in his fight against the alien Covenant. With more than $6 billion in franchise sales, Halo is one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time, spanning novels, graphic novels, comic books, various types of films, and more. And since it is Microsoft’s product, it has always been an Xbox exclusive (and also playable on PC and Mac).

Halo MCC Seemingly On the Way To PS5

On January 30, Sony announced that Forza Horizon 5, one of the most popular racing games, exclusive for Xbox, is getting an official PS5 port. On that note, Okami 13_, a popular gaming journalist, said: “Now that the first of the “big three” (Halo, Forza, Gears) is officially headed to PlayStation, it’s only a matter of time before we see the others. Halo on PS5 is really happening isn’t it?”

Jez Corden, another popular gaming insider replied that they heard that Master Chief Collection will be the first one to arrive on PS5.

If this proves true, it will be a major turning point in the world of gaming. More players lead to more revenue, so both the developers/publishers and players would get something out of this. Plus, it would be good for Halo multiplayer, as SalfordJud said: “It’s good for Halo, increases [the] player base and less queue times for some amazing classics.”

But, there are some questions, mainly why is the MCC first and not Halo Infinite. “Infinite could sure use the population injection right now while it still has a core playerbase, and the game is fantastic!” stated SoulBlazerz. Hopefully, more will be revealed in the next State of Play.
