It seems that things are finally looking up for Helldivers! After they finally managed to slow down the Meridian Singularity, the High Command gave them an opportunity to stop it completely, and even get a new Stratagem by doing so. Of course, Helldivers 2 players were allowed to try out the E/GL-21 Grenadier Battlement during the current Major Order. The first reviews are in, and so far, they have been quite positive.
A New Stratagem Dropped in Helldivers 2
A fun couple of days are ahead for the Helldivers! The latest Major Order sends them to the Squid front to fend off against six Illuminate attacks and stop the Meridian Singularity. Now, realistically speaking, the majority of the MOs on this front fail, as fighting Squids isn’t all that fun.
Well, it seems that the devs found a workaround for this problem. The briefing explained that the new Stratagem, the Greandier Battlement, would be available during this MO, but only on the Illuminate front. Of course, if the players complete the Major Order, it will be permanently added.

Funnily enough, the devs’ strategy seems to be working. At the time of writing this article, it’s been around 18 hours since the MO started, and the Helldivers have already defended three planets, and the fourth defense is going well.

What Do the Helldivers Think About the Grenadier Battlement?
Unsurprisingly, Helldivers 2 players actually like the Grenadier Battlement. If you haven’t had the chance to try it out yet, you might find some of the players’ first impressions useful.
Dustfull noted: “I used it on a defend assets missions and it is pretty good for it. The grenade launcher seems like a slightly better version than the support weapon (admittedly, though, I haven’t used it much, so don’t fully trust me on this point). It has a mag size of 60 pellets, which is nice, but it is horrible against the Harvester”.
Another player stated: “Don’t underestimate the new Grenadier Battlement. I was initially unimpressed the first time this piece of kit was unveiled to me after being launched from the sky, but when I tested it, I was blown away by the fact it had a hefty 60 magazine with no reload needed. Additionally, to top it all off, it has a 100-second cooldown after the ship upgrades”.
One thing is for sure – it’s worth visiting the Squid front for! And, while you’re there, why not spread some Managed Democracy? The Meridian Singularity has to be stopped. We’ll be fighting on Oasis, will you join us? For Liberty and Super Earth.
