The Illuminate vanguard arrived more than a month ago. Though getting to fight the Squids has been fun, players started craving some new content, or even a slightly different approach. Also, it’s been more than a month since the last Warbond dropped, so Helldivers are ready for a new one. Without revealing too much and spoiling the surprises, one Helldivers 2 dev shared what lies ahead in terms of Warbonds and possible new difficulties.
Should Helldivers 2 Players Expect Any Free Warbonds in the Future?
Sephez, one of the developers, took to the Helldivers 2 official Discord to answer some of the fans’ most frequently asked questions. As you probably know, the first anniversary of the game is fast approaching, and many players wanted to know if they’d maybe get a free Warbond as they did at the release.
The dev noted: “We have plenty of cool ideas for different Warbonds! Can’t make any promises for new additional big free Warbonds like the Hellivers Mobilized one as it costs us a lot of money to make them but sometime if it makes sense for us to do it then we’d be more than happy to release specific ones on special occasions for free”.
This makes complete sense, as the devs had previously given them gifts for Liberty Day, and, more recently, they gave players the second part of the Killzone collab for free for the holidays. So, we’re sure that Helldivers will get some freebies for the first anniversary as well.
Dev Reveals Arrowhead Is Discussing More Difficulties
Aside from possible free Warbonds, the dev also talked about Arrowhead working on more difficulties for all of those Helldivers 2 players who found the game too easy. So, should you expect difficulty 11 any time soon?
The dev stated: “We are discussing ways to increase the difficulty for the players that want that extra challenge. There’s plenty of different avenues to take with this so there’s a lot of flexibility, including higher CRs, so do keep an eye out (maybe not in the near future though)”.
We truly appreciate the devs honoring Arrowhead’s “Do right by Helldivers” approach. It’s extremely important for the developers to listen to players’ feedback, and so far, Arrowhead has done so time after time.
So, hopefully, they’ll continue listening to the player base and keep improving this amazing game. Until they drop another amazing new update, you can always help out on one of the fronts. At the time of writing this article, there are a couple of hours left till the end of the Major Order, so watch out for any last-minute attacks. For Liberty and Super Earth.
