Helldivers 2 is enjoying a rather spectacular heyday right now with an enormous horde of reinforcements diving in from Xbox recruits and, to celebrate, Arrowhead has provided players with a feast of a content roadmap in the next week. Players are currently treated to a Helldivers 2 Halo: ODST crossover, for example, with an expansion-sized update pitting players against the Terminids’ most nightmarish assault thus far and yet another new Warbond scheduled for September 2 and September 4, respectively. To any Helldivers 2 players belonging to the new, significant batch: this is not customary.
Warbonds and updates aren’t too far and few between, but there’ll be a lot of hard truths or unwritten Helldivers 2 rules to learn the hard way when there’s a bit of a lull later on. For instance, the Superstore is a completely extracurricular facet of content that players may never indulge in if they’re committed to not spending any actual money in-game, but it’s worth knowing that thrilling items unavailable elsewhere will populate there on occasion. And, as part of the upcoming Dust Devils Warbond, the Superstore will boast what is surely the coolest melee weapon in the game.
Helldivers 2’s Halo 3: ODST and Dust Devils Warbonds are a Buffet
Helldivers 2’s Halo: ODST Warbond is the game’s first Legendary Warbond, and notably does not have any associable Superstore content as a result. So, before players accidentally and erroneously overlook the Superstore in Helldivers 2’s next Warbond, it’s important to understand that the ODST one not having anything in the Superstore is an anomaly. Regardless, if players aren’t interested at all in bonus Dust Devils items, including a machete, they have more than enough to chew on for the next while from the Halo: ODST and Dust Devils Warbonds alone:
Helldivers 2 x Halo: ODST

Helldivers 2’s Dust Devils Superstore Content Includes a Machete
New players would be forgiven for not thinking to check the Superstore for additional Warbond content. Likewise, this content costs SC, not medals, meaning that players will have to fork over more cash if they’d like to embrace a Warbond’s motif and theme more intimately.
Fortunately, besides Helldivers 2’s Killzone crossover content—much to players’ chagrin—Helldivers 2 has little to no FOMO, as nearly all Superstore items are on rotation and return eventually.
The onus is on players to decide for themselves whether this paid content is worthwhile for them, yet anyone who’s been running melee-oriented builds will probably be ecstatic about what Helldivers 2’s Dust Devils Warbond offers in the Superstore. Leaning even more heavily into a seemingly inspired Helldivers 2 Dune motif without being an actual crossover, Dust Devils’ Superstore content features a yellow Fremen-esque aesthetic, which is also remarkably similar to Destiny’s Hunter, as well as a gnarly-looking machete:
- DS-10 Big Game Hunter light armor set.
- CQC-42 Machete secondary.
- Eternal Corona player card.
- Eternal Corona cape.
But that’s not all that new players should be made aware of. While incredibly cool, Helldivers 2’s melee weapons are rarely as valuable or optimal as any other secondary or stratagem, especially on higher difficulties. Of course, players are free to choose whatever loadouts they’d like, regardless of what metas are popular.
