Hellraiser: Revival gets a new “love story” trailer just in time for Valentine’s Day

Last summer, we were promised the first-ever Hellraiser video game somehow wasn’t an asymmetrical online multiplayer one. Instead, publisher and developer Saber Interactive confirmed it was a story-driven, first-person horror adventure.

Since that first reveal, we’ve seen the game a few times, but a meatier trailer hadn’t arrived… until now. Ahead of Valentine’s Day, of all things, the Cenobites are back, and the game’s new trailer is all about the love story at the centre of the whole mess.

Needless to say, the protagonist, Aidan, isn’t having a great time after falling in love with the wrong girl, someone who’s grown obsessed with the Genesis Configuration, one of the “fun” little puzzle boxes that can summon Pinhead and their demonic peers. Of course, longtime fans of the wildly uneven movie series know the Cenobites aren’t the worst which can come from the Labyrinth and other hellscapes… unless you strike a deal with them.

Unfortunately, it looks like Aidan will have to strike a deal with them in hopes of saving his partner, who may or may not be doomed already. The trailer doesn’t fully explain why he’s doing everything he’s doing, but, uh, he’s hurting some people (and other monstrosities) pretty bad after meeting with Pinhead. The game’s official description mentioned battling cultists “devoted to the Cenobites,” so that explains things at least a bit.

Perhaps the most fun part of the gameplay shown so far is that Aidan can use the Genesis Configuration to get otherworldly help and inflict extreme pain on his enemies… while trying to dodge horrifying deaths himself. Fun for the whole family ahead!

Hellraiser: Revival is currently targeting a release on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. No launch window beyond 2026 has been set at the time of writing though.
