In a post on his official Twitter account, Keighley announced that Kojima will appear on stage at the YouTube Theater, though this news isn’t coming as a surprise to many gamers in the comments section. After all, Kojima has been featured at many events hosted by Geoff Keighley, including many of the previous Summer Game Fests.

Keighley gave no further details about Kojima’s role at Summer Game Fest 2025, but many are assuming that Death Stranding 2 will be involved. Of course, with the next chapter of Sam Porter Bridges’s saga soon set for release, Kojima could instead shift his focus toward his future projects like OD, the cryptic horror title that was first revealed at The Game Awards 2023. With contemporary horror director Jordan Peele and a star-studded cast joining Kojima for OD, fans have high hopes that the game will deliver genuine chills.
Kojima is also working on Physint, an action-espionage title that will serve as a spiritual successor to the Metal Gear franchise that put Kojima on the map. Fans are naturally interested in seeing the creator return to the stealth gameplay style he once made famous, but Kojima has told everyone that Physint will take about five to six years to finish. In the meantime, fans of Kojima’s work should probably tune in to Summer Game Fest next week to see what he reveals at this year’s gaming extravaganza.
