“How Did Spider-Man Hit That?“ Some Marvel Rivals Players Are Begging the Devs for an Immediate Fix of This Hero’s Area of Effect

Enough is enough! Over the last couple of days, more and more players have noticed (and recorded!) an interesting problem. Many Marvel Rivals players don’t enjoy facing Spider-Man, and now they have proof that his area of effect is too big.

What’s Going on With Spider-Man?

According to some players, there are plenty of reasons not to like Spider-Man. He’s too hard to catch for healing, he isn’t fun to fight, and he either rules a game or destroys any chance of winning. Overall, players find him annoying and hard to fight.

Well, the community recently discovered why he was hard to fight. It seems that the area of effect, for the uppercut (to be exact), is considered to be too big. If you are 5m away from Spider-Man, even in the air, even if he’s facing away from you, he’ll be able to hit you, without you even seeing it.

Now, many players call this “a broken hitbox”, but we’d like to clarify, the hitbox is fine on both Spider-Man and any of his opponents (as far as we are aware). The problem is the area of effect. And, you can see exactly what we’re talking about in the video below, or here.

Even though the majority of players truly loathe this issue, some find it funny, on occasion. The_Mystic noted: “Most of the time I only find out they have a Spiderman on their team when I suddenly get launched up in the air for no reason lol”.

Some Marvel Rivals Players Don’t Agree That the Area of Effect Is the Problem

Of course, it’s important to hear out the other side as well. Some Marvel Rivals, presumably Spider-Man mains, don’t think his uppercut has too large an area of effect. According to them, the problem is just the animation of this move.

One player, vallummumbles, noted: ” I think it’s perfectly fair for what the character is, and it just needs a better visual. It’s a 55 damage 5 5-meter AOE, and only does that much damage when you use a spider tracer. Not really a huge deal”.

Another player, Birdsaintreal97, stated: “They should tweak the animation to make it more accurately convey the size of the AoE. I think the ability is fine otherwise, but no one likes getting hit by something that looks like it didn’t”.

What do you think? Is the problem the animation or the AoE? Or both? Well, hopefully, the devs are working on a solution that would make everyone happy. In the meantime, enjoy the Galacta’s Cosmic Event during the weekend, we hear a Venom emote might make an appearance for April Fools’ Day!
