“How on Super Earth Did We Do It?” Helldivers 2 Players Try to Solve the Mystery of the Completed Major Order

Hooray, the MO is done! This was probably one of the most important Major Orders that the players had in a while. It was quite confusing at times, but the Helldivers pulled through. However, now that the Major Order is completed, the Helldivers 2 community can’t comprehend how exactly they managed to pull it off.

The Briefing Doesn’t Offer Much Info on How the MO Was Won

In the early morning hours of April 25, the Helldivers defeated the Squids. Some couldn’t quite understand how. Players hoped the briefing would explain what happened.

The briefing praised Helldivers for stopping the Squids from destroying Super Earth. It explained that the facilities on Fenrir III were damaged, but the reconstruction was in progress. Also, the Repulsive Gravity Field Generator was almost done, so the Meridian Singularity could be stopped quite soon.

The briefing mentioned the Voteless, as well. The scientists have been working hard on getting a deeper understanding of mind control. Cheekily, the briefing reminds that the scientists were only researching mind control to be able to defend against it.

However, nothing explained how the Helldivers 2 players actually completed the Major Order. As a reminder, they needed to fend off five attacks (which they did efficiently!) and “liberate” 1,25 billion Voteless. In the first three days of the MO, they managed to “liberate” only around 500 million, which is less than half.

Some Helldivers Suggest How the Major Order Was Completed

You might be aware that J.O.E.L stepped in with some modifications, and the number of Voteless needed suddenly dropped to 750 million. Still, the players’ progress wasn’t even close to that number. So, what happened?

It seems that one of J.O.E.L’s modifications was much more generous than the players expected. One Informational Advisory noted: “Successfully repelling Illuminate attacks will instantly repatriate large numbers of Voteless”. However, no one could’ve guessed that the “large numbers” would be 250 million of the Voteless per a successful defense!

The players connected the dots only after they suddenly completed the MO. Sharpshooter_200 explained: “It seems like after that advisory, successfully defending an invasion lowered the kill requirement by 250m each time. So we managed to get it all the way down to 750m -> 500m, winning the MO as soon as that happened”.

Still, plenty of players believe that Arrowhead realized 1,25b Voteless was an unrealistic goal. Especially because numerous rumors claim the new update will drop once the Helldivers stop the Meridian Singularity. So, if the update was indeed ready, the devs needed to help out the players with the MO.

Obviously, these are only rumors, so don’t get your hopes too high just yet! We’ll all have to be patient for a bit longer. In the meantime, you’ll find us on Turing, cleaning up the mess from the MO. For Liberty and Super Earth.
