It’s a rather strange quest objective.
The Nature’s Calling event tasks you with performing many kinds of odd and tricky tasks in The Sims 4. One such task asks you to make and use the Wooden Throne, an item you likely aren’t familiar with.
If you want to finish the final week of quests in this event, acquiring this item is a must, but the quest objectives don’t tell you much about what this object is or how to obtain it. The process also requires quite a bit of work before you can actually tackle the main goal, so here’s how to craft the Wooden Throne in The Sims 4.
What is the Wooden Throne in The Sims 4?

The Wooden Throne is an outhouse in The Sims 4. There are some other outdoor bathrooms you can find around the world, but the Wooden Throne is the only actual outhouse in the entire game. It acts like a normal toilet, which means your Sim can use it to go to the bathroom.
How to get the Wooden Throne in The Sims 4
The Wooden Throne cannot be bought from Build/Buy mode like most other items and instead must be crafted using a woodworking table. It’s a tough item to make because your Sim needs to have level 10 Handiness, which is the maximum level they can reach.
How to make the Wooden Throne in The Sims 4

You can craft the Wooden Throne by selecting the option to do so under the “Craft furniture” category at any woodworking table. There are a few complex steps in this process, though, so here’s a full breakdown of how to get it done.
- Purchase a woodworking table. You can find one by searching “woodworking” in Build/Buy mode or navigating to the Creative category. With only the base game installed, you have access to just one option, which is the classic Woodworking Table. This event has a second variant, the Reclaimed Woodworking Table, which can be claimed after completing week one Nature’s Calling quests. If you’re behind on claiming rewards, be sure to grab them from the event page. With the Artist Studio Kit, you may also have one extra option, which is the KraftMatic Woodworking Table 2.0. All of these variants function exactly the same, so pick whichever one you like best.
- Claim the Wooden Throne crafting recipe. Open the event page and claim this item after completing a few other week four Nature’s Calling event quests, like breaking the cave open and exploring the secrets.
- Have your Sim reach level 10 of the Handiness skill. You can use the woodworking table, repair/upgrade furniture, or read Handiness books to increase this skill. If you don’t want to work on this skill, you can also set it to level 10 by entering “testingcheats on” followed by “stats.set_skill_level Major_Handiness 10.”
- Craft the Wooden Throne. Click on any woodworking table, select the “Craft furniture” option, then locate “Wooden Throne.” It costs 500 Simoleons to make this item.
How to use the Wooden Throne in The Sims 4

Once you’ve crafted a Wooden Throne, place it down anywhere on your home lot, click on it, and select the “Use bathroom” option. Interacting with this item after you craft it is one of the last tasks you need to get done for week four in this event.
