How to find and defeat Frost Dragon in Hytale

If you’ve been busy exploring the world of Hytale, then you might have come across the Frost Dragon by accident.

This ancient creature is supposed to be a boss. We have already seen it in action on previous in-game screenshots released as part of the official promotion. However, the creature is actually present in the game. However, you might be surprised once you stumble upon the beast.

Frost Dragon location in Hytale

To find the Frost Dragon (or the Ice Dragon), you’ll need to visit the frozen regions of Dragonspire Weald. You’ll need to enter zone 3 and scout the frozen parts of Dragonspire Weald. The location will be a frozen bit of land surrounded by what should be considered non-frozen areas. Do note that this was in the Creative world. There’s also a portal that can take you directly to this location.

Once you reach the location, you’ll find a tall structure on the summit of the tallest mountain. Thanks to its size, this structure isn’t easy to miss. Climb to the top, and you’ll find the Frost Dragon sleeping in its lair.

While the terrain is rough, you’ll find plenty of valuable ores at this location. You can also find Glass to mine, which will be helpful if you want to build a window.

How to defeat the Frost Dragon in Hytale

Well, here’s the catch: the Frost Dragon appears to be asleep. At first, I thought that it was a bug. Unfortunately, the Frost Dragon boss doesn’t activate a fight in the current build. I tried to trigger a fight in the Creative mode, but to no avail. Hence, you can’t technically defeat the creature because you can’t fight it!

If you hit the boss with weapons, you won’t be dealing any damage. The creature will also continue to sleep without bothering about your attempts to land blows. While Hytale‘s first major update dropped on Jan. 16, the Frost Dragon continues to sleep tight.

I will be updating the guide with the proper battle steps once the boss becomes active. I firmly believe the location will remain the same. While you can’t fight the dragon yet, you can mine the areas for rare loot, and they will allow you to craft different recipes.
