How to Get All Relics in Ashes of the Damned’s Cursed Mode (Black Ops 7 Zombies)

Cursed Mode is a new addition to Black Ops 7 Zombies, in which players will venture into their favorite maps with a few classic restrictions. With no guidance on quest steps, a limited HUD, a limited starting loadout, and a classic points system, players have quite the exciting challenge ahead. Even better still, Black Ops 7 Zombies‘ Cursed Mode includes Relics to find, and each Relic will increase the difficulty of your game, but provide you with unique rewards that can help you. If you want Golden Armor, Pack-a-Punch Tier 4, or Ultra Weapon Rarity, you’ll need to know how to find all Relics in Black Ops 7 Zombies‘ Cursed Mode. Luckily for you, this is the hub for step-by-step directions to all Relics and what they do.

You can discover and collect Relics in Cursed Mode, but to actually equip them, you must have completed the main easter egg. Luckily, we’ve got a guide for that too!

How to Get All Relics in Astra Malorum’s Cursed Mode (Black Ops 7 Zombies)

Astra Malorum introduces 6 more Relics for Cursed Mode for Black Ops 7 Zombies. Here’s a step-by-step guide on where you can find all of them.

Updated on January 14, 2025, by Jake Fillery: It’s been 2 months since Cursed Mode was released in Ashes of the Damned, and Samantha’s Drawing Relic has finally been found. The final Relic has now been added to this guide. This means that you can use this guide to get all 9 Ashes of the Damned Relics for Black Ops 7 Zombies, if you’re brave enough to reach the round requirements and access the trials themselves.

How to Get All Tier 1 Relics (Grim Relics) in Black Ops 7 Zombies

How to Get the Lawyer’s Pen Relic (& Its Effect) in Black Ops 7 Zombies

  • The Lawyer’s Pen Relic makes it so that Mimic props have infiltrated the map, meaning that random items on the floor will transform into Shock Mimics.

The Lawyer’s Pen Relic can be obtained from Round 20 onwards, and all it requires is Napalm Burst, an Ammo Mod from The Arsenal for 500 Salvage, or a total of 3 Molotovs, which can be crafted at the Crafting Table for 350 Salvage each. Once you’ve acquired your Molotovs or the Napalm Burst Ammo Mod, you will need to go to three distinct locations and throw a Molotov or shoot your gun at each of the unlit red candles. These candles can be found at:

  • Inside the Farmouse in Vandorn Farm. On the bedside cabinet when facing the northwest wall by the bed in the upstairs bedroom.
  • Inside The Ruby Rabbit in Ashwood. On the ground floor by Jugger-Nog, face the east wall and look to the leftmost shelf, which holds the candle.
  • Inside the Lost Cabins, the fog road connecting Ashwood and Blackwater Lake. On a table between the couch and the wardrobe within the cabin closest to Ashwood when facing southwest.

After all 3 candles have been lit, a laugh will play, indicating that you’ve completed this step. Now, you can head to the Vandorn Farm, where you will discover a green portal on the northeast wall of the Barn. Interact with the portal to begin the Grim Trial, which will make it so that all zombies are Shock Mimics. Shock Mimics are Special Enemies, and they are weak to the Brain Rot Ammo Mod, so consider bringing this into the fight. For the trial itself, just kill all Shock Mimics that continue to spawn, and focus on the HVTs for Wave 2 and Wave 4. Completing all 4 Waves awards the Lawyer’s Pen Relic.

How to Get the Dragon Wings Relic (& Its Effect) in Black Ops 7 Zombies

  • The Dragon Wings Relic makes it so that normal Power-Up spawns are disabled, including Max Ammos from Ravager Rounds.

The Dragon Wings is one of the Grim Relics that players can find, and it only unlocks once players have reached Round 20. After hitting Round 20, head to Vandorn Farm, where you will then need to use the Jump Pad that takes you back to Janus Towers Plaza. While using the Jump Pad, use a ranged weapon to shoot three purple spots that are found during the fast travel back to Janus Towers Plaza.

These purple spots are found to the left on a pylon, to the right on the destroyed tower, and then to the left above the lobby to the Janus Tower at spawn. Each of these purple spots can be found and shot with ease during one Jump Pad use, but if you fail, just try again.

Doing so correctly will see the purple spots disappear, and a laugh can be heard. Now, head back to Vandorn Farm, where you’ll find a green portal on the southeast wall of the Farmhouse. Interact with the green portal to start the Grim Trial for the Dragon Wings, and the trial itself has a special effect in which Power-Ups cause damage when touched.

Every zombie you kill will drop a Power-Up, but picking them up causes immense damage and doesn’t actually give the Power-Up. Simply kill the zombies to progress the waves, and kill the HVTs that spawn. Upon completing all 4 waves, you will be awarded the Dragon Wings.

How to Get the Teddy Bear Relic (& Its Effect) in Black Ops 7 Zombies

  • The Teddy Bear Relic makes it so that the round start delay is cut down by 75%, meaning that zombies will spawn faster at the start of a round.

The Teddy Bear Relic has a lengthy process where you must use the Aether Shroud Field Upgrade and Necrofluid Gauntlet to find and shoot 10 hidden Mr. Peeks that can be found in dedicated spots. You can start this from as early as Round 1, but the last Mr. Peeks won’t appear until Round 20+. It’s also worth noting that saving and quitting will reset the locations of all Mr. Peeks, and you will have to complete an additional 20 Rounds to spawn the final one, so it’s best to do this in one go.

The objective here is to stand where Mr. Peeks spawns, pop an Aether Shroud, shoot it with the Necrofluid Gauntlet, and reload to pull it towards you, which has the teddy bear drop to the floor and explode. If you need the Necrofluid Gauntlet, we advise looking at our guide here so you can get it as early as Round 8 to begin the hunt. Pictured above are the locations of all Mr. Peeks, but here’s where you can find them in text form:

  • Mr. Peeks #1 – Found on the top left sign of the exit gate to Janus Towers Plaza that leads into the road for Blackwater Lake.
  • Mr. Peeks #2 – Found on the Silo attached to the Barn in Vandorn Farm when facing southeast.
  • Mr. Peeks #3 – Found on a toppled barrel inside the Grounded Ship when facing northeast, which is the road between Vandorn Farm and Ashwood.
  • Mr. Peeks #4 – Found inside the toilet within the upstairs room in the Cabin of Blackwater Lake, in the same room as Speed Cola.
  • Mr. Peeks #5 – Found on the roof of a log storage shelter in the Lost Cabins when facing northeast, which is the road between Blackwater Lake and Ashwood.
  • Mr. Peeks #6 – Found within the rafters of the church at Ashwood when facing northeast.
  • Mr. Peeks #7 – Found on top of a cabinet in a high-up room when in Rabbit Alley of Ashwood, when facing south.
  • Mr. Peeks #8 – Found on top of an electricity pole in the Zarya Cosmodrome, when facing northeast.
  • Mr. Peeks #9 – Found in the lower areas of Zarya Cosmodrome in the Support Systems, when facing the open wall with an electrical box when looking north.
  • Mr. Peeks #10 – Found on the highway sign at Exit 115, easily seen by heading to the Diner Rooftop and looking east. ONLY SPAWNS ON ROUND 20+

After you have found and pulled all 10 Mr. Peeks with the Necrofluid Gauntlet, you will hear another sinister laugh. Now, you can head back to the Vandorn Farm location, where on the north wall of the small shed that holds the Armor Wall-Buy, you will find a green portal. This portal activates the Grim Trial, where every weapon shot costs 100 Essence. This isn’t too bad, as you can still shoot your gun after running out of Essence, but it just means you will leave the trial without any points left to buy ammo. The same format applies, where you kill zombies and HVTs, and then you’re given the Teddy Bear Relic.

How to Get All Tier 2 Relics (Sinister Relics) in Black Ops 7 Zombies

You will need to have Tier 1 rewards active in order to get Tier 2 Relics.

How to Get the Vril Sphere (& Its Effect) in Black Ops 7 Zombies

  • The Vril Sphere makes it so that you can only carry 4 Perk-a-Colas. (You can drink another Perk, but it will replace the first one in your HUD).

The Vril Sphere is a Tier 2 Sinister Relic that can be acquired after Round 40+. On Round 40, and every Round after, a Doppelghast will spawn. You will need to bring the Doppelghast to a jump pad and activate it repeatedly until the Doppelghast dies from it. To make this step easier, kill the Doppelghast with the jump pad by weakening it with your gun, and then repeatedly using it after the Doppelghast hits you while on the platform. Doing so will trigger a laugh sound effect to indicate that this step is done.

With the Doppelghast dead, head to Zarya Cosmodrome and look to the southeast wall where the rocket can be found. There’s an orange portal here that can be interacted with to begin a trial. The Vril Sphere trial disables all purchases, so make sure that you’ve purchased your ammo, perks, and upgrades, and perhaps bring a Max Ammo GobbleGum just in case. Now, kill the zombies and prepare for the Doppelghast and Shock Mimic HVTs that spawn on wave 2 and wave 5.

How to Get the Focusing Stone (& Its Effects) in Black Ops 7 Zombies

  • The Focusing Stone makes it so that you have no Self-Revive kits.

To get the Focusing Stone, you must first reach Round 40. After Round 40, you will need to kill a Zursa Bear with a melee attack. This is easily done with Melee Macchiato and a Pack-a-Punch Necrofluid Gauntlet, along with Aether Shroud, as you can spam melee the bear until it dies. Doing so will see the bear drop a bottle, which provides the prompt “???”, and you can interact with it to pick it up.

Now, wait for a T.E.D.D. Task to appear and complete that at the maximum level for Legendary rewards. Upon completing the T.E.D.D. Task at the maximum reward rank, another bottle will spawn as T.E.D.D. teleports out.

Take both of these bottles to the bar at Blackwater Lake’s Cabin, found at the north wall. Interact with the bottles here to place the two you have, which makes a total of 5. Now, the bottles will explode in a specific order, and you have to watch the order in which they explode, and then shoot them in that order. For instance, from left to right, our bottles smashed in: 2, 3, 4, 1, 5. So, when the bottles respawn, we shot them in the order of: 2, 3, 4, 1, 5.

There’s now an orange portal that can be found in the Zarya Cosmodrome, specifically on the west wall in teh Flame Trench, which is in the lower area of this landmark. Interact with the portal to begin the Cursed Trial, which forfeits all essence, meaning you will have 0 Essence in the trial, and it stays at 0 until it’s complete, so make sure you come prepared with ammo and upgrades. After the HVTs on wave 2 and 5, you’ll spawn back in with your Essence.

How to Get Samantha’s Drawing (& Its Effects) in Black Ops 7 Zombies

  • Samantha’s Drawing makes it so that every weapon you have will swap to a different one every round, but maintains its rarity and Pack-a-Punch level.

Samantha’s Drawing is a Relic that can be acquired on Round 40, but you can start the process of unlocking it immediately. To get Samantha’s Drawing, you will need to trade weapons to Chompy, a trash can that can be found on the map that, when hit with a melee strike, will open and allow you to donate your weapons. These weapons must be traded in the following order:

  • Common (Grey)
  • Uncommon (Green)
  • Rare (Blue)
  • Epic (Purple)
  • Legendary (Orange)
  • Wonder Weapon (Yellow)

You will need to give Chompy these weapon rarities, and this can be done before Round 40. To begin, keep your starting pistol and give that to Chompy first. Now, grab a Green Uncommon gun in the early rounds and give it to Chompy, and follow the same pattern for a Blue gun, Purple gun, and Orange gun. Once you’ve given Chompy one of each, you will need to wait until Round 40. On Round 40+, give Chompy a Wonder Weapon. We recommend getting a Ray Gun or Ray Gun Mark 2, as you’ll want to keep the Necrofluid Gauntlet for the trial.

The trial portal will spawn at the northwest wall in Zarya’s Cosmodrome, next to Yuri’s Lab. During the Sinister Trial, Ammo Cache and Max Ammo Power-Ups are disabled, meaning you need to fight 5 rounds of zombies without wasting ammo. For this trial, we recommend Scorestreaks, Combat Axes, and the Necrofluid Gauntlet.

How to Get All Tier 3 Relics (Wicked Relics) in Black Ops 7 Zombies

You will need to have Tier 2 rewards active in order to get Tier 3 Relics.

How to Get the Bus Relic (& Its Effect) in Black Ops 7 Zombies

  • The Bus Relic makes it so that enemy health regenerates.

The Bus is a Wicked Relic that will require you to reach Round 60+. Once you’re on Round 60 and above, you will need to complete a Round by killing all enemies with traps only. This might sound rather difficult to do, especially on such a high Round, but all you need to do is wait for a Ravager Round, indicated by the graying sky.

Once it’s a Ravanger Round, immediately rush to the Ashwood Shops, which are opposite the Ruby Rabbit in Ashwood’s upper west side. Inside the Ashwood Shops, you can activate a Saw Blade trap, and stand near it, where all the Ravagers will leap into the trap and instantly die.

The Saw Blade trap will last the entire round. Using a weapon in any capacity will fail the step, so just be sure to wait for a Ravager Round by a Saw Blade trap. As soon as the Round ends and you have taken no damage, you’ll hear laughter to confirm completion. If an entire round of using traps and equipment does not work, then try a round with only using Ol’ Tessie.

Now, head to Blackwater Lake and look to the south wall of the fishing hut, where you will find a red portal that you can interact with. Upon interacting with the portal, you will enter a trial in which zombies can only be killed by other zombies. For the Bus Trial, we recommend Brain Rot with Caustic Fumes as a Major Augment and both Explosive and Super Serum for the Minor Augments, requiring a Research total of 100%. This will make this trial so much faster, as the zombies you have turned will deal immense damage. This is 6 waves of killing zombies with Brain Rot zombies, including 2 waves of HVTs, which consist of Zursas and Doppelghasts.

How to Get the Dragon Relic (& Its Effect) in Black Ops 7 Zombies

  • The Dragon Relic makes it so that Ammo Crates are disabled.

The Dragon Relic is arguably the most challenging to acquire. In order to get the Dragon Relic, you must beat the boss fight on Round 60+. To begin, we recommend doing all steps to the Ashes of the Damned Main Quest as early as possible (use our guide here!). Once it’s Round 60, talk to Klaus at Blackwater Lake and begin the final trial with Ol’ Tessie to collect the wisps across the roads to enter the boss arena, where you will face Veytharion.

This boss fight is easier than you think, so just bring Monkey Bombs to distract zombies if Ol’ Tessie breaks, and Aether Shroud to repair Ol’ Tessie if needed, but you should be fine by driving into the respawning green plants, then ramming Veytharion. Upon the boss’ defeat, you will need to hit ‘Continue’ on the end screen, and after which, you’ll hear a laugh indicating you’ve completed the step.

There will now be a red portal on the west wall of the Cabin in Blackwater Lake. Interact with the red portal to begin a trial in which zombies can only be damaged by explosives. For this trial, we recommend Monkey Bombs, the Ray Gun, and most definitely, the Necrofluid Gauntlet. The Necrofluid Gauntlet at Tier 3 Pack-a-Punch is extremely powerful, as you can fire all 8 bullets, then hold L2 to make them explode. This deals immense damage to zombies and the HVTs that will spawn on wave 3 and wave 6, which consist of Doppelghasts and Zursas.

How to Get the Blood Vials Relic (& Its Effect) in Black Ops 7 Zombies

  • The Blood Vials make it so that all Augments are turned off.

The Blood Vials is the final Wicked Relic, and it’s the only Wicked Relic that requires progress as early as Round 20. On Round 20, a red telephone will begin to ring around the map. The objective is to find the phone and spam the interact button (reload) until the telephone disappears, and you hear a laugh. The telephone must be interacted with multiple times, or it will disappear.

Now, on Round 30, you will need to repeat the step by searching for another ringing red phone across the map. This must be done a total of 5 times after every 10 Rounds: Round 20, Round 30, Round 40, Round 50, and finally, Round 60. Try and hold the interact button for at least half a second before pressing it again, and until the phone disappears. The telephone ring is extremely loud, and has a spawn for every location, so here’s where to find them:

  • Janus Towers Plaza: Inside the Server Room, on the desk.
  • Vandorn Farm: Inside the Farmhouse, upstairs on a desk.
  • Blackwater Lake: Inside the Toolshed and the Lost Cabins, on shelves.
  • Ashwood: Inside the Market Square, in a destroyed building opposite Vulture Aid.
  • Zarya Cosmodrome: Inside the Control Room.
  • Exit 115: Inside McDougal’s Service Station.

After dialing and answering the red telephone that spawns, you will now find a red portal inside the Cabin at Blackwater Lake, on the west wall. The trial will have you face a penalty in which your weapons deal 50% less damage, but that’s not as bad as it might seem. Make sure to come prepared with weapon upgrades and Fire Works as an Ammo Mod to deal additional damage, and be mindful of the Shock Mimic and Doppelghast HVTs that spawn on wave 3 and wave 6.
