Despite all the doom and gloom surrounding Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, there’s still plenty of fun to be had with its colorful festivities. Early in your journey, you’ll begin collecting Festival Tokens. We’ll show you how to earn them quickly and use them for rewards.
How to get Festival Tokens in Clair Obscur Expedition 3
As you set out on Expedition 33, you’ll earn your first Festive Token automatically. The other two, however, are tricky to get since you’ll have to complete a specific objective with an NPC. Let’s break down the other two objectives.
Second Festival Token location

You first want to head over to Antoine, who will be right at the center. He’ll ask you a series of questions, and you must choose the following answers to get the second Festival Token:
- Expedition Zero
- Abilities you internalize from using Pictos enough times
Even if you choose an incorrect answer, you’ll still have another chance. Just keep speaking to Antoine until you get it right.
Third Festival Token location

The Third Token can be easy to overlook, as its associated NPC isn’t hanging around the main hub like the rest. Instead, you’ll find Maelle—lost in thought, gazing out at the sea on the right-side docks. This is the same path where Jules stands guard, and if you spoke with his father early on, now’s your chance to hand over the handmade clothes and snag a special reward. Whether or not you’ve wrapped up that side quest, you can still approach Maelle and challenge her for a rematch.
When fighting Maelle, Overcharge only deals real damage when fully charged, so focus on landing attacks to build up AP. Lumiere Assault is also a solid choice for consistent damage. Be sure to use Parry and Dodge effectively to avoid her fast and relentless strikes.
What to do with Festival Tokens in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
With all three Festival Tokens, it’s time to exchange them at nearby stalls. You’ll meet up with Tom, Amandine, and Colette. Each will offer you a reward with one token. If you want a sneak peek into what they have to offer, here’s what you can expect:
NPCs | Rewards |
---|---|
Tom | A Weird Picto that will be unusable initially, but it will become of value when you speak to Gestral at Gestral Village |
Amandine | A new haircut |
Colette | An Old Key that’s used to open a door in Old Lumiere, similar to the Manor |
Unfortunately, you can’t use the Weird Pictos and Old Key quite yet, so you’ll have to wait a bit more until you’ve unlocked more features. The only one that will be accessible is the haircut, which will automatically change Gustave’s haircut. I got the bun style, but it may be different for you. You can also alter this cosmetic once you unlock the feature to change outfits and haircuts.

If you’re on the hunt for achievements, the Old Key will come in handy for journals. You’ll begin this journaling adventure by speaking to the two boys at the Festival Token location. Those who can find them all will earn the Follow the Trail achievement, one of the most challenging feats in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
