How to get and use Mandalorian Jetpack in Fortnite Chapter 6, season 3

The first half of Fortnite’s Star Wars season has been severely lacking in good traversal items to help us get around the island quickly. Luckily, the Mandalorian Jetpack is now part of the loot pool, and it’s a great tool to have in your arsenal.

This traversal tool makes traveling around the island so much more efficient. It also grants you a powerful new ability that gives you an edge in combat situations. Here’s how to get and use the Mandalorian Jetpack in Fortnite.

Where to find Mandalorian Jetpack in Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Battle

The Mandalorian Jetpack is a randomly found loot item that can appear anywhere on the island. To find it, open chests, check for floor loot, and otherwise hunt for items everywhere you go. There are no specific locations you can check for it, as it has a random chance of appearing.

The first one I found dropped from a chest. I had opened around 10 chests before I came across one that had this item, so it seems to be a fairly rare asset. It can be found in chests, though, so be sure to open every one you come across to have a shot at acquiring one.

I ran into a second Mandalorian Jetpack shortly after sitting on the ground. Like most weapons and loot, this item can randomly spawn on the ground just about anywhere on the map. Keep an eye out as you travel around to make sure you don’t miss one.

If you defeat a player who has this item in battle, they’ll drop it upon perishing. You can then pick it up and add it to your inventory to use. Some items, like force abilities, don’t drop when a player dies, but this one does.

How to use Mandalorian Jetpack in Fortnite

The Mandalorian Jetpack only has one function, which allows you to fly for short periods of time. You can use this item while also holding a weapon in your hand, so it’s a great tool to use during combat.

There are two controls for using the jetpack, which are Ascend and Cancel Hovering. The buttons you need to press to use each option vary by platform, but are always displayed near the left middle edge of the screen while you’re using this tool.

The Mandalorian Jetpack decays over time as you use it. You can track how far away it is from breaking by checking the bar on the right side of the jetpack icon in your inventory. It gets destroyed fairly quickly, so be cautious of using it too much.

How to travel distance using the jetpack in Fortnite

To complete the weekly quest that asks you to travel distance using the jetpack, you need to traverse a total of 300 distance while flying with the Mandalorian Jetpack. Equip this item and focus on flying forward with each burst you get to cover as much ground as possible.

Now that you can get around the island quickly, you can work on flying around to tackle key tasks. You might consider working on saving Chewbacca, visiting different outposts, and finishing Jar Jar Binks’ story quests.
