How to get into Hernand Castle in Crimson Desert

To enter Hernand Castle in Crimson Desert, you must wear something fancy or the guards will refuse to let you pass. Don’t worry, though, as a proper Hernand Castle clothing set may be much closer than you think… There’s probably no need for you to steal clothes or buy the expensive Hernandian Banquet Cloak from the tailor.

Here’s how to enter Hernand Castle in Crimson Desert by wearing the proper attire — without the need to empty your wallet.

Early on in Crimson Desert, you’ll find yourself at the gates of Hernand Castle. If you attempt to go inside, the guards will deny you entry because of your attire. Later on, you’ll need to enter Hernand Castle as part of the “Mystical Key” quest in Chapter 1, “The First Encounter.” However, when you try to enter, there’s a good chance you’ll still be denied entry.

If that happens, you must equip a nicer set of clothes. There are three ways to get them: Wear the Hernandian Attire obtained during the “Actions Speak Louder than Words” quest, buy the Hernandian Banquet Cloak from the local tailor, or steal a set of nice clothes somewhere else.

Before you even consider the other two options, open your inventory and check if you’ve got the Hernandian Attire. You can equip it right in front of the guard, and they’ll let you enter Hernand Castle.

In case you haven’t completed the “Actions Speak Louder than Words” quest, here’s how to do so.

During Chapter 1 of Crimson Desert‘s main story, “The First Encounter,” you’ll get the “Actions Speak Louder than Words” quest, asking you to help the distressed villagers. One of the objectives is to help the quarreling couple at Murkroot Ranch, just south of Hernand.

Speak with the couple; the woman, Lauren, will inform you of their chimney troubles, prompting Kliff to offer his help. On the other side of the house, climb the crates to reach the rooftop, then stand on top of the chimney and equip the broom (which Lauren just gave you) to clean it. As thanks, the couple will reward you with Hernandian Attire.

If you’ve accidentally lost or sold the Hernandian Attire, the best way to enter Hernand Castle is to buy the Hernandian Banquet Cloak from the tailor in Hernand for 7.86 silver. You will find her in the town center, next to the blacksmith:

Although the price seems steep, it won’t be that expensive anymore when you’ve progressed a bit further, and it’s easier than stealing since you don’t have the necessary mask yet. You can get money through faction quests and selling items, specifically loot obtained from bandits.

Remember, though, that the best way to enter Hernand Castle is by wearing the free Hernandian Attire. Once there, you can start the “Abyss Without Balance” quest and solve the first Abyss puzzle in Crimson Desert.
