Every character begins with a fixed number of slots when starting a run. This is universal, irrespective of which character you have picked. If you’re on a smaller map (tier one), getting more slots isn’t that useful. However, the importance rises significantly the moment you spawn on a higher-tier map (tier two, for example).

How to obtain more Weapon slots in Megabonk
The process of unlocking more slots is hidden behind quests. Whenever you begin a run, you’ll come across different quests. The conditions vary based on the map, your chosen character, and more. There are two slots available for all, and you’ll have to complete a certain number of quests.
Weapon Slots
There are two Weapon slots to unlock that become available when you complete 50 quests. They will be available in the shop. However, an update is coming soon that will reduce this to 25 quests.
Tome Slots
Tome Slots are unlocked when you complete 60 quests. But an update is coming soon, which will bring the requirement down to 35 quests.
How do more slots work in Megabonk
Having more slots allows you to have more weapons. There is a slight disadvantage, since all your modifiers will now be split. However, you can nullify that with the help of Tomes. The effects of a Tome will be multiplied across all your weapons.
As I said, having more weapons is a must if you’re on a tier 2 map. With the correct Tomes, you can have a dual-weapon setup with one focused on the minions and the other focused on the boss.
