Football Manager 26 might not have licenses for all the leagues and clubs around the world, but you can bypass those limitations using a mod file.

This will increase the overall immersiveness since you’ll no longer have to view clubs and leagues with fake names. This guide will help you to add authentic names for all clubs, leagues, and tournaments from all around the globe, irrespective of whether Football Manager 26 has the correct licenses or not.

You’ll first need to download a mod file that has the correct name for all the leagues and clubs in Football Manager 26. This file is available for free across multiple sites. I have linked the one that I have used, but you can use any version of the file you like.

Once you have downloaded the mod file, complete the following steps.

  • Close Football Manager 26.
  • Extract the contents of the mod file to a separate location.
  • Open the root directory where Football Manager 26 is installed on your device.
  • Open the shared subfolder, followed by data, and then database.
  • Open the db subfolder, and then the 2600 subfolder.

  • In the 2600 subfolder, open the Inc subfolder, and then open the all subfolder.
  • Delete the following files from the all subfolder.
    • acc Inter unlic 26.lnc
    • acmilan unlic 26.lnc
    • fake.lnc
    • inter (wom).lnc
    • inter unlic 26.lnc
    • japanese names.lnc
    • lazio (wom).lnc
    • lic_dan_swe_fra.lnc
    • licensing club name_fm26.lnc
    • men lazio.lnc
    • men.atalanta.lnc
    • ac milan (wom).lnc
  • Copy all the files from the extracted mod file to all subfolder.
  • Go back two steps and open the edt subfolder.
  • Open permanent.
  • Remove the fake.edt file.
  • Go two steps back to find the dbc subfolder.
  • Open permanent, and then delete the following files.
    • brazil_kits.dbc
    • forbidden names.dbc
    • italy.dbc
    • japan_fake.dbc
    • j league non player.dbc
    • Open the language subfolder and delete the following files. Licensing2.dbc
    • Licensing2_chn.dbc
    • 1_japan_removed_clubs.dbc

The first piece of change fixes all the team licenses that are missing. The second one prevents the likes of Niko Kovac and Oliver Kahn from being renamed to false names. The final one sorts out the J-League and Brazilian clubs with false names.
