How to Get the Onsen Buddy Achievement Badge
Before you can earn the Onsen Buddy badge, you’ll need to unlock the achievement system itself. Achievements become available once you reach D.G. Member Level 15. You can check this by opening your D.G. Member page and swiping to Level 15, where you’ll see “Feature Unlocked: Achievement.”
The fastest way to level up your D.G. Member rank is by completing NPC Daily Requests. These can be found in the Memo app on your in-game watch. Once achievements are unlocked, you can view them through the Achievements app on your watch.
The Onsen Buddy achievement is a hidden achievement in Heartopia. This means that you need to unlock it to reveal it. This achievement comes with a clue: “Amidst the swirling steam, friendship quietly deepens.”
To unlock it, you need to visit Onsen Mountain with a friend and stand together in one of the blue onsen pools. These are the pools that are filled with bright blue water. Do not stand on the central geyser, as it does not count. The tiny puddles scattered around the area also won’t trigger the achievement, so ignore those.
One of the easiest locations to do this is the onsen pool, which is found right next to the Bait the Insects Sonic Device. This is also where you start Insect Catching Events. Simply hop into the water with your friend. You do not need any special emotes or actions.
As long as both players are standing in the pool, and you see the Onsen icon under your energy bar, the achievement will unlock automatically.
Rewards
Once completed, you’ll unlock the Onsen Buddy badge and the Onsen title for your profile. It’s one of the simplest secret achievements in Heartopia.
You can only display up to three badges on your player profile at a time, along with the title they unlock, so choose wisely.
