Not very easy, not very hard.
The Manual is one of the trickier skill moves to pull in Skate, and performing it correctly can be a true challenge.
Used very situationally, the Manual involves putting your weight on the lower part of your skateboard while slowly moving on the floor. It’s advisable to perform the move on a flat surface. You’ll also need to learn and master this trick to complete at least a couple of challenges inside the game.
How to master the Manual in Skate?
The controls for performing a Manual are relatively simple.
- Press the RS button down lightly to push your weight on the lower end of your skateboard.
- Hold the RS button down to keep doing Manual. The longer you hold down, the more Manuals you’ll score.
- Your highest chances of success will be on a floor, as I have shown in the screenshot. You can also perform them on raised platforms that have a flat top surface.
- Ensure that your speed is slow/stationary.

Skate Advanced Manual Techniques guide
Once you master the art of manuals, you’ll require it first in the Advanced Manual Techniques challenge. The quest requires you to perform two Flip tricks and two Manuals.
- The easiest option for Flip Tricks is the Ollie. Simply flick the RS up, and you’ll perform an Ollie.
- For Manual, pause where you come down, stop, and hold the RS slightly down to perform the required move.
Make sure to stay in the assigned area to complete the challenges and proceed to the next one. Try out this fix if you’re getting a bug trying to save your mission progression.
