How to unlock Air Jump (Double Jump) in Hollow Knight Silksong

Among the many mobility-focused abilities Hornet can acquire in Hollow Knight: Silksong, being able to double jump (or Air Jump) is among the best, no matter if you are looking to style on some bosses or speedrun some bothersome platforming sections.

But unlike the Swift Step and the Clawline, the ability is not tied to an Ancestral Art and instead can only be unlocked by acquiring the Faydown Cloak. Here’s how to upgrade your cloak and get the ability to double jump in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

You can get the Faydown Cloak in Hollow Knight Silksong by reaching the top of Mount Fay and calling for its deity, a feat you can only accomplish after acquiring all of the Ancestral Arts (Swift Step, Cling Grip, Needolin, and Clawline). Hornet is also going to slowly freeze when outside of protected barriers or sources of warmth during the climb. So time will be at the essence. Here’s a quick guide on how to reach the top and a rough outline of the path you must take.

• After entering the region from The Slab’s southmost Fast Travel station, head to the cliff on the utmost left.
• Talk to Shakra to purchase the Mount Fay map before heading to the exit directly above her camp.
• Platform up until you reach the top of the cliff.
• Continue west before dropping down and entering a passageway on the left. Don’t fall all the way!
• Stay on your path to break a rock wall and reach the area’s second bench.
• Platform northeast from the bench before exiting the area and dropping down the thorn-filled passage.
• Head right all the way and platform up to reach the next area. Make sure to rest on its bench.
• Make use of the walls and enemies to continue upward toward the next area.
• Wall jump before heading left toward a gust of wind.
• Ride the wind to reach the top.
• Play the Needolin to get the Flaydown Cloak.
