One Piece Episode 1124 sparked a massive debate among the fandom.
Megumi Ishitani Is Exceptionally Talented
Megumi Ishitani’s work speaks for itself. She doesn’t need to go on social networking sites and plead her case. Megumi Ishitani directed the One Piece Fan Letter, and it received critical acclaim from fans. They were mesmerized by the quality, and they couldn’t believe how she had turned a spin-off into something so magnificent.
Following the success of the project, Megumi Ishitani spoke about her future goals, in which she confirmed the desire to direct a One Piece film. While a new film has yet to be announced, it is safe to say that Megumi Ishitani will be a part of it. In fact, she should be the one who oversees the entire project.
Since Megumi Ishitani is still working at Toei Animation, she will likely be involved in some of the episodes in the Egghead arc. The anime recently returned, but fans are already hyped up for the fight between Kizaru and Luffy. The two characters have fought each other in the past, in which the Marine came out on top. However, Luffy has undergone an incredible transformation, so this time Kizaru won’t have an easy time.
Toei Animation Has Made Some Rather Controversial Changes
The new episodes of One Piece have been marred by controversy. In Episode 1124, Toei Animation made several changes to the original story, most of them involving Sanji. The studio added a scene where Sanji revealed that Nami had rescued him from the Seraphim. This did not happen in the manga, and the studio added it for no reason. The studio even removed Sanji from a scene altogether, which infuriated the viewers.
If this wasn’t enough, Toei Animation also made Sanji fawn over Bonney, who is just 12 years old. This scene was not in the manga, so the studio’s decision to include it in the anime is even more confusing.
Some outraged fans have begun attacking animators and other staff members, including Megumi Ishitani on X (formerly Twitter). Even if they disagree with the studio’s choices, it is wrong to go after the staff members. Hopefully, this behavior will stop.
One Piece is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
