Infinity Nikki has finally revealed all the details about the DIY Workshop, an upcoming feature in Version 1.5 that will allow players to dye their hair and clothing, as well as apply unique patterns to their outfits. While Infinity Nikki launched in December 2024 with Evolutions, allowing players to have several recolors of the same item, the community hoped that Infold would implement a dye system at some point in the near future.
Following weeks of rumors and speculation, the developers confirmed that dyes would be coming to Infinity Nikki by teasing the DIY Workshop with the Bullquet event in Version 1.3. While the initial plan was to debut dyes and housing together, the latter was ultimately pushed back to Summer 2025. Thanks to datamining and leaks, Infinity Nikki players had some inkling of how the DIY Workshop would work in Version 1.5, but it ultimately took an official deep dive from Infold to clarify some of its quirks.

Infinity Nikki Reveals Multiplayer Co-op Details
Infinity Nikki provides a detailed overview of its exciting multiplayer co-op as Infold prepares the game for Version 1.5 and its Steam launch.
Ahead of Version 1.5, Infold clarified how the DIY Workshop would apply to 3-Star, 4-Star, and 5-Star outfits in Infinity Nikki. One of the biggest question marks regarding the new feature was its ability to coexist with Evolutions. Infold had to create a system that was both consumer-friendly while still incentivizing players to evolve outfits in Infinity Nikki. From a creative standpoint, the full potential of the DIY Workshop is showcased in a video shared by dave-not-a-barbarian on the Infinity Nikki subreddit.
Infinity Nikki: DIY Workshop Overview
-
Players can dye hair, clothing, and special effects using palettes.
- The ability to dye special effects is unlocked for certain 5-Star outfits after collecting three Evolutions.
-
Each palette has eight colors for players to choose from.
- The first two color slots of a palette are unlocked by default.
- The other six color slots are unlocked by expending dye materials.
-
Outfits have several areas that can be individually dyed, with some pieces even allowing stylists to apply custom Patterns.
- Patterns are currently unlocked by completing World Quests and via gameplay features on Serenity Island.
-
Palettes will gradually become available based on factors such as outfit completion and Evolution stage.
- Six palettes are unlocked by default.
- Three palettes will become available for outfit pieces when 5-Star outfits are completed, followed by four palettes after the first evolution and five palettes after the second evolution. 5-Star outfits have a total of 18 palettes.
- Three palettes will become available for outfit pieces when 4-Star outfits are completed, followed by four palettes after the first evolution. 4-Star outfits have a total of 13 palettes.
- Three palettes will become available for outfit pieces when 3-Star outfits are completed, followed by another one after being glowed up. 3-Star outfits have a total of 10 palettes.
- After obtaining the third evolution and all other palettes are unlocked, the “Custom Color” palette will become available. This will allow players to dye their outfit with a color wheel.
- For 4-star and 5-star outfits, after being evolved, the required amount of dye materials to unlock palettes will decrease.
-
Each outfit piece can save up to seven custom Dyeing Schemes, and supports the sharing and importing of these Schemes.
- Players can share their Dyeing Scheme using a QR code or via the Wardrobe page or Dye page.
By locking palettes behind Evolutions, Infinity Nikki players are rewarded for investing in their favorite outfits. Six base palettes give stylists up to 48 colors to work with, which is more than enough for matching clothing pieces across different sets. It should be noted that the DIY Workshop currently supports all 5-Star and 4-Star outfits from previous banners, some 3-Star outfits, most Ability Outfits from the Heart of Infinity, and the new outfits coming in Version 1.5. However, the system will expand in subsequent Infinity Nikki updates to include more outfit sets and even individual clothing pieces.
The same can be said for the overhauled Glow Up feature in Infinity Nikki. Not every outfit will have the Revived tag in Version 1.5, but players should expect to retroactively receive new recolors for their 5-Star, 4-Star, and even 3-Star outfits in future patches. The DIY Workshop will be celebrated with Rainbow and Pattern, a special event in Version 1.5, which will give players rewards for completing dyeing tasks. Version 1.5 is set to launch on April 29 and will last until June 4.
