Invincible VS will be released next month, but before then, you can get a taste of the bone-crunching tag-team fighter for free. Developer Quarter Up and publisher Skybound Games announced Tuesday an open beta for Invincible VS will be held April 9 through 11 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. (Sorry, PC players, no beta for you.)
The open beta will include ten fighters of the 18 that’ll be available at launch, including series mainstays Invincible, Atom Eve, and Omni-Man. Not included, however, is the original character Quarter Up created for the game, Ella-Mental, who was revealed at The Game Awards last year. Instead of being a punchy-punch-punch character like the Viltrumites, her moveset is built around the elements. (She’ll still punch her opponents, though, of course.)
The newly revealed Allen the Alien will be joining the beta. Voiced by Seth Rogen in the Amazon Prime show, Allen is a friend of Mark’s who eventually gets powered-up enough that he can go toe-to-toe with his Viltrumite foes.
“First and foremost, [we’re] building a tournament-quality, brutal superhuman fighting game with a tag component in it,” executive producer Mike Willette told Polygon ahead of the game’s reveal last year. “One of our mantras at Quarter Up is we want every player to look and feel like a badass.”
The Invincible VS beta will start at 1 p.m. eastern on April 9 and end at midnight April 11. The full game will launch on April 30 for PS5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. There will be a Year 1 Character Pass for it, bringing four more fighters to its roster, with the first two joining in June.
