Honestly, one of our favorite parts of this game is the easter eggs. Sure, the Galactic War is important, so is the drip from the Warbonds, and the new enemies. However, there is something extremely satisfying in discovering the little details the devs included in the game, on purpose (the flag salute) or accidentally (the friendly bug). These details, as well as plenty of references, show just how much the devs actually care about this game. Well, the latest obsession of the Helldivers 2 community has been learning how to strut. Yes, that’s a thing!
Helldivers Explain How to Strut
Over the last couple of days, the players have been obsessed with a video of a Helldiver casually strutting around the ship, while doing the Super Earth salute. The OP said they had no idea how they managed to do that, so the community got their thinking hats on.
Well, one player, Supercat-72, figured out the formula for the so-called “phonk walk”. They noted: “PSA: For the phonk walk, activate the emote then walk, stop, walk, stop, walk, stop on repeat until it activates”.
Is It an Easter Egg or a Bug?
The question remains – is the ability to strut in Helldivers 2 an easter egg or a bug? Well, that’s still unclear at the time of writing this article. The devs haven’t made any comments about it yet, and that’s the only way we could know for sure.
Some players claimed it was definitely a bug, since others couldn’t see it. However, a bunch of Helldivers then posted videos of their teammates strutting around, so this theory was disproved.
One thing is for sure – the entire community is in love with this feature. Since the community noticed it right after the latest Warbond dropped, some disgruntled players joked that this was the best thing in it. Others were just in awe of the devs’ ingenuity. JunglerFromWish noted: “Whoever programmed this, they’re a real one”.
Also, the community is quite adamant about wanting to keep this in the game. Poetess-of-Darkness stated: “AH, please never patch this. You let us have emoting while ragdolling, so please let us have this. This is perfect”. Ah, yes, the classic bug when emoting while falling would ease your fall was taken out of the game. But it was hastily returned once the devs realized how much the community loved it.
