It’s confirmed! The Fantastic Four reunion is scheduled to happen quite soon. The developers confirmed that The Thing and Human Torch will join Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman at the start of the second part of Season 1 of Marvel Rivals. Players are elated and full of expectations.
Marvel RIvals Devs Announce The Thing and Human Torch Are Coming
On February 10, the developers issued the Dev Talk Vol 10. Even though it talked about some exciting developments and arrivals, the main focus was on the unfortunate announcement about the mid-Season rank reset.
They noted: “The first half of Season 1 is reaching its end with the second half set to kick off on February 21, 2025! Get ready to welcome two new Super Heroes to Marvel Rivals—The Thing and Human Torch—along with some major balance adjustments. These updates are expected to shake up the battlefield during the second half of Season 1. After careful observations and consideration, we have concluded that players’ ranks during the first half of Season 1 are the best indicator of their competitive skills within the season. So, we will be introducing additional rank reset to better align with the upcoming content and changes”.
The community was devastated. Thankfully, the developers hastily issued the Dev Talk Vol 11 which solved the big issue. After the players celebrated this victory, they could finally enjoy the good news. The Thing and Human Torch are coming to Marvel Rivals.
Players Can’t Wait to Meet Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm
As you may have expected, the players had lots of wishes for these two remaining members of the Fantastic Four. Players can’t wait for Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm to join the roster.
ShaoIsMCHammer noted: “All I want for Johnny is for his MVP to write the 4 in fire in the sky. And for him to not suck. As for predictions, I think Johnny will be a semi-flier, like Star-Lord. The Thing, I feel like he’ll be another Brawl tank. Not sure how they’d differentiate him and Hulk but we’ll see”.
IonizedSmurf added: “He’s meant to be designed as a knockback/movement nullifier. I think he will have quite an effect on gameplay requiring different strategies to deal with him. Also, HT is gonna be a menace to deal with. I just have a feeling he’s gonna be OP for the first couple of weeks”.
Another player, thelovernotaplaya, stated: “We already kinda know The Thing will be a tank Vanguard, and Human Torch will be a Duelist, similar to Iron Man and Storm, able to fly. The Thing probably has a defense boost like Hulk or Venom. The ultimate is what I’m wondering about tho. Human Torch probably has some fireball explosion ultimate. Would be funny tho they make human torch a healer Strategist”.
