Helldivers received some great news today! In just a couple of days, the new Warbond, Borderline Justice, will be added to Helldivers 2. It’s cowboy-themed, and the players are already in love with it. It’s been a while since the Servants of Freedom dropped, so the hype is real.
The Borderline Justice Trailer
On March 18, the developers announced the upcoming Warbond. They posted the trailer on YouTube, and, truth be told, it looks really fun. The devs managed to capture the spirit of those old Western movies in the trailer, they brought us back to our childhood.
What’s in the Borderline Justice Warbond?
As always, Baskinator, the Community Manager, wrote a lengthy blog post about the new Warbond, explaining each and every item in it. She noted: “…step up, pardner, and claim your sheriff’s star with the new premium Warbond: Borderline Justice! We’re heading out to the Wild West with the weapons this time”.
First up is the R-6 Deadeye lever-action hunting rifle. Baskinator noted: “You can look forward to killin’ time bullseying bugs and rounding up squids and looking cool while you do it”. Of course, you’ll need a side-arm, as well! The CM suggested: “Instead of individual shots, the LAS-58 Talon “revolver” secondary is energy-based, meaning a slow and steady hand can keep on shooting without overheating”.
Another exciting addition is the TED-63 Dynamite which comes with a variable timer. We already see many Helldivers losing their limbs from this one! Or, if they are lucky, they’ll manage to get away right on time, thanks to the new Stratagem, the Lift-860 Hover Pack!
To look even better while doing so, you have two new armor, the GS-66 Lawmaker and the GS-17 Frontier Marshal. The Reaper of Bounties or the Covering Fire Cape will complete your new look! Baskinator added: “No matter which look you choose, you’ll be mighty good with the Gunslinger armor passive, which gives your secondary increased reload speed, increased draw/holster speed, and reduced recoil”.
You’ll also get a new booster, Sample Extractor. Once you kill an enemy, this booster will give you a small chance that the enemy in question will drop a Sample! Of course, the devs threw in a couple of player banners, and a new player title – Super Sheriff.
Finally, we saved the best for last! The new emote, Tip Hat! Baskinator stated: “Cowboy hats might be outlawed by the Helldiver uniform code, but you can still say your howdies and farewells with the Tip Hat emote”.
Helldivers Love the New Warbond
Obviously, the Helldivers 2 community is head over heels for the new Borderline Justice Warbond. What’s not to like about it? Great designs, a Hover Pack, and an emote that we’ll use constantly? This Warbond is quite well-rounded.
SpecialIcy5356 noted: “I’m so happy rn. This actually just made my week. Literally, EVERYTHING I wanted in a Western warbond and more besides. The Talon Laser revolver looks amazing and I’m f**king DROOLING over that lever action. Yeehaw/10, best warbond yet”.
Dreams do come true sometimes! So, while we wait for the Second Galactic War to unfold, and the new Major Order to drop, we can daydream about the upcoming Warbond. Hopefully, we’ll get to explore the Gloom in our cowboy get-up. For Liberty and Super Earth.
