Fasten your seat belt, we have a lot to cover! The CEO of Arrowhead, Shams Jorjani, took to Discord on the evening of April 28 and chatted with the community for a while. During that time, he revealed what the priorities were, if the Killzone collab would return to the Super Store, talked about endgame progression, and even addressed the lack of communication with the players. Also, Jorjani indirectly confirmed that an update wouldn’t drop on April 29. So, let’s dive into everything that was said about the update and all the issues this CEO addressed while chatting with the Helldivers 2 player base.
Helldivers 2 Update – When? And, What to Expect?
First things first! These are probably the questions that every Helldivers 2 player wants to see answered. Unfortunately, it seems that an update isn’t coming just yet. If you are wondering who Jojo from the title is, that’s the QA Lead, Joseph Gardner. On April 28, he made quite a splash when he simply answered “No” when asked if an update would drop on April 29. Jorjani doubled down on Jojo’s reply by saying: “Jojo never lies”.
As for what you can expect from the update once it comes, well, quite a lot actually! Jorjani talked frankly about the “technical debt” that prevented the devs from having a precise timeline. Basically, they can’t tell how new things would impact performance. So, if it does have an impact on the performance, the devs have to either slow down and find a way around the problem or start from scratch and hope for the best.
Jorjani noted: “…the good news is that we have a new great technical director helping out and new and better processes are in place that will help everyone is working super hard on both content and fixing things”.

He also stated: “But we are super aware of the performance issues and are whacking away at them. But not firm promises on when/what”. Jorjani also addressed performance issues a couple of weeks ago, so we can safely say fixing them is a priority for Arrowhead.

Speaking of the update, Jorjani also confirmed that AA was being worked on. A couple of weeks ago, the already mentioned QA Lead, Jojo, also talked about AA, and revealed it would be fixed in the next update.
The CEO Discussed the Return of the Killzone Collab
As you know, back in December, Helldivers 2 got its first collab. The Killzone items were released in two parts. The first part was quite pricey, and it was followed by some controversy. So, the devs sort of apologized by giving the players the second part of the collab as a gift. Pilestedt, the CCO, also shared the devs’ philosophy on collabs.
Well, Jorjani basically confirmed what Pilested had said. When asked about the return of this collab to the Super Store, Jorjani noted: “It will return – no date confirmed. We need to figure out the right pricing for the stuff”.

He added: “I think the intent is to unwrangle the original messup but do right by folks. Idk where we’ll end up. The second page wasn’t meant to be free originally – nor should we have priced the first so high”.

The CEO Teases Some Cool Changes
Of course, the CEO didn’t talk just about the update, the collab, and the issues that the Helldivers 2 community found unbearable. He also talked about some exciting things that could happen in the future.
As for some fun things that the team might be working on, Jorjani mentioned progression was his “number one priority”. This is encouraging, as the community has been up in arms over the lack of progression.
Also, Jorjani promised “more bladed weapons at some point”. He even mentioned he was “hoping for a customization system” when asked if the FRV could ever get a different weapon.
Finally, plenty of players complained that there was a serious lack of communication, aside from the occasional dev popping by and answering a couple of questions on Discord. This has been an issue for a long while, we can track it all the way back to June 2024. Jorjani agreed that this issue should be solved.
So, dear Helldiver, it seems that the devs are working hard on fulfilling everything the community is hoping for. It might take a while, but it will be worth it in the end. In the meantime, let’s complete the current Major Order together. We’ll meet you on Fenrir III. For Liberty and Super Earth.
