This article contains spoilers from the JJK Modulo series.
JJK Modulo Chapter 20 might just be the biggest and most exciting chapter of the series yet, and fans are incredibly excited by what the author Gege Akutami has been delivering. In the previous chapter of the manga, fans saw the grand return of Yuji Itadori, and it goes without saying that he is stronger than ever before. With the mighty Piercing Blood, Yuji showed everyone his potential being fulfilled and how strong he had truly become over the last 69 years.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Yuji’s Shrine Is Better Than Sukuna’s, Explained
Yuji and Sukuna can both make use of the ability of the shrine. Yuji’s might be better in JJK.
Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 20 took over from there onwards and displayed a glimpse of Yuji’s overall power. It goes without saying that Yuji is a monster in terms of overall strength, and that his powers go far beyond what anyone expected. In fact, it wouldn’t even be a stretch to say that Yuji is the strongest sorcerer of all time, and it is quite clear to see based on his current display of strength.
Yuji Itadori Gained Major Power Ups In Shinjuku Showdown
- Yuji gained multiple powers in the Sukuna Raid
- His innate technique finally awakened
Yuji’s rise to power officially started in the Shinjuku Showdown arc of Jujutsu Kaisen. As fans know, this was the last arc of the story, where Yuji Itadori took on Ryomen Sukuna in combat after the fall of Gojo Satoru. In this arc, fans saw Yuji gain a lot of tremendous power-ups, and it almost felt like Yuji was getting too strong too fast. However, that matters little, because he did go on to defeat Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, and deliver a decent ending to the story. Yuji’s power-ups in the Shinjuku Shodown arc can be divided into multiple categories.
I told them this would happen. Not that I said it out loud though. Piercing Blood! — Yuji Itadori, JJK Modulo Chapter 19
The Power Of Blood Manipulation
One of the first power-ups that Yuji gained in Shinjuku Shodown, or rather in the timeskip that came before it, is Blood Manipulation. Thanks to consuming Death Paintings 4 to 9, Yuji was able to gain access to Blood Manipulation and become more akin to his brother Choso, and the likes of Eso in Kechizu. This aided Yuji greatly, as he did not have a cursed technique when fans first saw him in the story. However, now he had access to Blood Manipulation.
Mastery Of Reverse Cursed Technique
Despite having Blood Manipulation, Yuji still couldn’t use the power of Convergence properly, which means that to use Piercing Blood, he needed help from Choso. That said, the main reason why Yuji needed Blood Manipulation was for Reverse Cursed Technique. Unlike other sorcerers, Yuji did not have to strain himself too much to utilize the power of reverse cursed technique due to having Blood Manipulation. This certainly helped him greatly against the King of Curses, and was a significant reason as to why he even defeated Sukuna in the first place.
The Power Of Shrine
The second, and quite easily the biggest power-up that Yuji received in this arc, was the Shrine technique. As fans know, Yuji was the vessel for Ryomen Sukuna, and right from the get-go, Sukuna was pouring his cursed energy into his body. Gojo Satoru confirmed with his Six Eyes long ago that Yuji was essentially like a cursed object himself, being bathed in Sukuna’s cursed energy. He even stated that Yuji would have Sukuna’s Cursed Technique engraved into his body, and that is precisely what happened in the final war in Shinjuku.
Sukuna, let’s end this once and for all. I can defeat you. — Yuji Itadori, Shinjuku Showdown
Yuji landed a powerful Black Flash on the king of curses, which triggered the awakening of his latent Cursed Technique. This gave Yuji access to Shrine, although his version of the technique was slightly different than that of Sukuna. Yuji’s Shrine saw him utilize scissor-like snipping techniques to make accurate cuts, and he could combine this power with his innate ability to hit souls somehow. Yuji landed tremendously powerful Soul Dismantles with his Cursed Technique and eventually evolved it to a point where he even developed a Domain Expansion.
A Full-fledged Domain Expansion
The battle against Ryomen Sukuna ended inside Yuji Itadori’s domain expansion, but to get to that, he had to train with Kusakabe during the timeskip. When Yuji trained with Kusakabe, he managed to learn the power of Simple Domain, and undoubtedly, this was one of the greatest abilities that he gained by imbuing his technique in the domain that he learned.
Yuji managed to create a powerful domain expansion, and it was unlike that of Sukuna. Whereas Sukuna’s domain was a Shrine in a pool of blood and corpses littered all around, Yuji’s domain was an imagery of the place he called home. Yuji could take Sukuna to places he had been to throughout his childhood, and this was quite a powerful scenery.
As far as his techniques are concerned, Yuji landed a powerful sure-hit Soul Dismantle on Sukuna, which is what ended up weakening him significantly. All these power-ups made Yuji a monster to deal with in combat, but this was only the beginning for him, because his potential was only just being realized.
Adult Yuji Itadori’s Full Power Is Beyond Gojo And Sukuna
- Yuji Itadori has mastered Blood Manipulation
- His Shrine is stronger than Sukuna’s
69 years later in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, fans finally got a glimpse of Yuji Itadori’s powers as an adult. It goes without saying that he is an absolute calamity at the moment. In fact, Yuji is far stronger than fans saw him in Shinjuku, and this version is actually comparable to the likes of Gojo and Sukuna. In fact, based on his display in JJK Modulo chapter 20, it would not even be a stretch to say that he is actually even stronger than these two calamities.
Yuji Itadori is a thing of the past. He doesn’t matter anymore. — Yuji, JJK Modulo Chapter 20
When Yuji first debuted in chapter 19 of the sequel manga, he utilized the power of Blood Manipulation on a completely new level using Convergence, and then tapped into the power of Piercing Blood. Yuji utilized so many powerful arrows at once that he managed to overwhelm dozens of humans and Simurians at the same time. An entire building full of sorcerers was taken down by Yuji in the blink of an eye.
If that wasn’t enough, Yuji then went on to show the power of his other Cursed Technique, that is Shrine. Yuji utilized the power of snipping attacks with the shrine cursed technique during the Shinjuku showdown. Now, his technique has evolved to a whole new level. Yuji utilized two powerful Dismantles, and the sheer size of them was unbelievable. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Yuji’s shrine is even stronger than that of Sukuna, since his basic dismantle attacks were comparable to Sukuna’s Divine Flame and Gojo’s Hollow Purple.
Yuji Has Also Mastered The Black Flash
On top of that, Yuji seems to have mastered the ability to hit the Black Flash at will. It must be remembered that no sorcerer in the history of JJK can hit the Black Flash at will, but Yuji is the one who has hit it the most in the battle against Sukuna. It almost felt as if Yuji was hitting them at will, but this was almost certainly down to his incredible focus.
Now as an adult, Yuji casually managed to land a Black Flash on one of the Simurians, and this was immediately after his debut. This goes to show that Yuji has actually mastered the power of Black Flash, and all this combined makes him the strongest sorcerer in the history of JJK that goes beyond the level of both Gojo and Sukuna. At this point, Yuji is utterly unstoppable and a calamity.
