Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Is Coming But There Is A Catch

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is arguably the biggest release of 2026. With the anime returning after almost 3 years, it’s hardly surprising that so many fans are eager to watch it. The new season of the show will cover the much-awaited Culling Game arc, which is filled to the brim with action.

While the excitement is certainly at its peak, there is one thing that has gone under the radar. The issue is linked to how MAPPA is handling the third season of Jujutsu Kaisen.

MAPPA has shared no information regarding the second part, as it wants fans to remain focused on the initial cour. Since the third season is divided, it’s safe to say that it won’t cover the entire Culling Game arc. The first part will likely end on a cliffhanger to maintain fans’ interest. The remainder of the arc will be covered in the second part of the anime.

JJK Fans Are Not Pleased With Season 3

The decision to divide JJK’s third season is a bit shocking, especially since the last season aired in 2023, almost 3 years ago. It’s likely that MAPPA made up its mind a long time ago, as the studio has been busy with other projects. Recently, the studio released Chainsaw Man Movie: Reze Arc, and it was a huge success among fans. They were extremely pleased with the animation quality as well as the pacing. It even ended up earning a rating of over 9 on MyAnimeList, putting it just behind Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End at the top spot. In addition to Chainsaw Man, the studio also had to tackle four more projects, including Hell’s Paradise Season 2, Dorohedoro Season 2, Zenshuu, and Ranma ½.

So it’s quite apparent why the studio took so long to wrap up production on JJK Season 3 and also why the new season has been split. Despite the division, fans shouldn’t be sad, as the decision is likely to benefit the adaptation. If the studio had been forced to finish all episodes of Season 3, there’s a possibility of the quality being reduced, which would only infuriate viewers. The second part gives the studio more time, so the staff members don’t have to overwork.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Is Going To Break Records

Fans are free to rebuke MAPPA for its approach to Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, but there is no denying that it will be one of the best anime of 2026. MAPPA will do its utmost to ensure that the animation quality is amazing, as it wouldn’t want to disappoint fans after making them wait for years. Aside from the animation, fans should also look forward to the debut of many characters in season 3, including ancient sorcerers.

Culling Game Will Be Full Of Action

Since Kenjaku is pulling the strings for the Culling Game, he is going to involve a lot of big names in the game. As an ancient sorcerer himself, Kenjaku has perfect knowledge of everyone from the Heian Era. So, it’s obvious that he knows who to bring back. Obviously, the new characters will be in the limelight, but Gojo Satoru’s absence will certainly be felt. After all, he is the strongest sorcerer in the world. Since he has been sealed away, the entire world of Jujutsu Kaisen is going to undergo a drastic change. The cursed spirits can come out of their hiding place, as the sorcerers have been dealt a heavy blow. However, Itadori Yuji will be the first person to feel Gojo Satoru’s absence. The latter was the only person stopping the higher-ups from killing Itadori Yuji. Now that he is no longer available, Yuji is exposed and will have to fend for himself.
