Legend of Zelda movie set photos of Link and Zelda revealed by Nintendo

The first looks at Zelda and Link in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda movie are certainly Breath of the Wild-coded

While it won’t be here until 2027, the adventures of Link and Princess Zelda begin now. Nintendo has announced the beginning of production on the upcoming The Legend of Zelda film, showing the franchise’s two main characters in live-action for the first time.

In the photos, which you can see in the Nintendo Today app, we see images of both Link and Zelda in attire that look to take inspiration from 2017’s Breath of the Wild. The synopsis of the movie has yet to be revealed, so there’s no telling if the plot will be pulled from that particular game as well. You can take a look at the images below.

While these are the first official looks at the characters, they aren’t the first images to hit the internet. Over the weekend, a leaked photo of Ainsworth in costume as Link popped up online. While the quality isn’t great, it was exciting to see.

The movie stars Benjamin Evan Ainsworth (The Haunting of Bly Manor) as Link and Bo Bragason (Renegade Nell) as the titular princess. No additional casting has been announced, but we will surely see some form of Ganon, even potentially his human form as Ganondorf.

The Legend of Zelda will be the third movie from Nintendo’s current slate to hit theaters. In 2023, we got The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Next summer will see The Super Mario Galaxy Movie picking up where that movie left off. Then, on May 7, 2027, The Legend of Zelda will arrive on the big screen.
