MagicCon Atlanta 2025 kicked off with an avalanche of news on Friday, from the announcement of more Marvel sets, a deeper look at Lorwyn Eclipsed, Star Trek and Hobbit tie-ins, and the inevitable unveiling of even more Final Fantasy cards. Somehow, there was more.
At the Secret Lair panel, Wizards of the Coast announced cards based on The Office, Furby, and certainly the most Polygon-coded crossover, The Last of Us. Wizards says the cards are part of larger initiative with Sony, which seems like a no-brainer after the Final Fantasy set was a mega-hit.
Here’s a look at two cards from the drop, Joel and Ellie.
Lindsay Bartell, senior director of secret lair was on hand for the announcement, saying that just like in the games, the Joel and Ellie cards are designed to work well together as partnered commanders. As long as Joel survives, of course.
No official release date was announced, but The Last of Us cards are expected as part of Magic’s 2026 Secret Lair slate.
