Marvel Rivals Fans Want a Change Made to Ultimate VFX Cosmetics

Summary

  • Players want the option to toggle VFX animations on/off to see unique ultimate visuals.
  • New cosmetic options in Marvel Rivals include recolors and VFX for ultimate abilities.
  • Marvel Rivals is adding numerous skins to the game as part of its Summer Special event.

Some Marvel Rivals players are asking NetEase Games to give them the option to toggle custom VFX animations on or off, giving people a chance to see one another’s unique ultimate cosmetics. While Marvel Rivals recently debuted Season 3, it has already teased the addition of Blade to the popular hero shooter’s ever-expanding roster with its upcoming Season 3.5 update in August.

Recently, NetEase Games introduced more cosmetic options that can be purchased with Unstable Molecules in Marvel Rivals. These options include recolors of popular skins and even new visual effects that can be added to a hero’s ultimate ability. For instance, Scarlet Witch’s Immortal Sovereign skin now has a cosmetic option that adds a swirling golden dragon and unique sound to her ultimate ability’s animation. As of writing, only players who purchase the new VFX cosmetic will see it when triggering their ultimate ability. This means that teammates and enemies will only see the default animation with no frills or custom options.

Marvel Rivals Players Are Asking for a Helpful New Feature

Marvel Rivals players come together to ask NetEase Games to add a helpful new feature to the popular hero shooter in a future update.

In a recent post on Reddit, JRex922 asked NetEase Games to give players the option to toggle on VFX cosmetics for allies and enemies, which would allow them to experience the unique animations of other players on the battlefield. Currently, these animations only appear to the person using them to preserve the visual integrity of combat encounters. Players rely on visual cues and voice lines to know exactly when an ultimate ability is being used by another hero. Constantly adding variations to the ultimate abilities of heroes in Marvel Rivals could cause quite a bit of confusion in the middle of a match, which could lead to frustration among players. This is why JRex922 seems to believe that adding some kind of option to toggle the unique animations would allow gamers to experience the best of both worlds.

Marvel Rivals Fans Want the Ability to Toggle VFX Animations

NetEase Games recently released a new skin called Breezy Butterfly for Psylocke in Marvel Rivals. In addition to all the usual perks that come with a Legendary rarity skin, players can use Unstable Molecules (or Lattice) to purchase additional colors for Psylocke’s costume and a unique visual effect for her ultimate ability.

Psylocke’s Breezy Butterfly costume is just one skin that has been added to the game as part of Marvel Rivals‘ Summer Special event. Through the event pass, players also have the opportunity to acquire summer skins for The Thing, Thor, and Luna Snow. Just like Psylocke’s skin, Luna Snow’s costume was also released with additional colors and visual effects that can be purchased in the shop. With a whole new season to enjoy and even more content just around the corner, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
