This article contains spoilers from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex continues to drop one major reveal after another, and this month, fans got a ton of exciting information from Ikemoto and Kishimoto about the Shinju, Mamushi. While most fans considered him to be the weakest of the Shinju, it appears that he actually wields some of the most powerful skills. Mamushi is strong, being a product of the Divine Tree itself, and that means he is very difficult to kill. But, that’s only a fragment of his true powers. As revealed by Kishimoto in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 17, Mamushi has access to a very powerful Jutsu a bit similar to Naruto Uzumaki’s Shadow Clone, but wildly different in how it really works.
As some fans might know already, Mamushi can effectively copy himself multiple times and he can do so as many times as he wants. This makes him a force to be reckoned with, and in a way, almost unstoppable in combat. This jutsu of Mamushi is quite special, and it goes without saying that it is only a matter of time before its full potential will be revealed. That said, fans can already tell that this Jutsu is easily one of the very strongest that Kishimoto and Ikemoto have introduced in the story so far.
Mamushi’s Copying Skill Is Overpowered
Mamushi Can Copy Himself Infinitely
- His clones don’t lose strength or chakra
- The downside is reduced intelligence
As mentioned earlier, Mamushi has multiple powerful abilities, and out of them all, the one that shines the most is his Copy power. As explained by Kashin Koji in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 27, Mamushi is incredibly skilled and he can copy himself multiple times. In fact, there is no limit to how many times he can copy himself. Now, one might think that this just makes him a user of a Jutsu like the Shadow Clone Technique, and to a degree, that’s true. The difference between the two is huge, however.
Mamushi’s ability is to increase his numbers as much as he wants. — Kashin Koji
In the case of Mamushi, he actually manages to create copies of himself, not a shadow clone. Each Mamushi is the real him. If that’s not enough, them fans also need to take into consideration the fact that Mamushi’s strength isn’t affected by the cloning at all. Unlike Shadow Clones, where chakra is split and strength may be halved, Mamushi’s full strength and chakra are maintained across all his clones, and he can clone himself infinitely. Theoretically, if given enough time, Mamushi can take over the whole world with his clone army and destroy everything.
However, there is one weakness of this Jutsu. The more Mamushi clones himself, the lower his intelligence gets. If he clones himself enough, even simple actions will become harder for him to perform, which also means that wiping him out will be much easier. That said, the technique itself is still very overpowered.

A More Intelligent Character Can Make This Jutsu Unstoppable
Mamushi’s Technique Is Arguably The Strongest
Mamushi isn’t the strongest of Boruto characters and he certainly isn’t the most intelligent either. In fact, he possesses below-average intelligence, which is a big drawback for him. Under someone stronger, however, his technique would be unstoppable. For example, if Sasuke had access to his powers and could clone himself 10-20 times, he wouldn’t lose as much intelligence as Mamushi since his overall intelligence is already way higher. In that sense, this Jutsu is truly one of the most overpowered to have ever been revealed. It all depends on the overall intelligence of the user.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex’s chapter 28 is set for its official release on November 20, 2025. The release time of the chapter is 10 AM EST/ 3 PM UTC. As always, fans can read the chapter officially for free on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
