Monster Hunter Wilds: Where To Find Y'sai

During the first chapter of Monster Hunter Wilds, players will come across a lost child and will reunite them with their brother Y’sai. While he may just seem like a story-focused NPC, Y’Sai has some use later on in the game after you reach High Rank.

Some NPCs become item traders, helping you get rare resources, while others become Material Retrievers, who gather specific resources for you. There are also those who can invite you to a meal, which will usually be a lot better than anything you can cook along with being free, and that’s where Y’Sai comes in.

Where To Find Y’Sai In Monster Hunter Wilds

Y’Sai can be found in the Windsong village in the Windward Plains. Much like Murtabak, he is a wandering NPC who won’t stick in only one place, so finding him will always take a bit of luck. That being said, you will need to make sure that it’s daytime and the weather for the region is, “Plenty”. Changing the weather and time can be done at your tent in camp for 300 Guild Points.

While Y’Sai doesn’t have one specific place he stays at, he can usually be found in the eastern section of the village, especially near the Seikrets. Normally, Y’Sai will have a green dot over his head helping you identify him, though unlocking him as someone who gives Meal Invitations will give him an icon over his head to make tracking him much easier.

How To Get A Meal From Y’Sai In Monster Hunter Wilds

After completing the quest, “Beware The Gypceros”, you’ll be able to get a free meal from Y’Said by visiting him. Talking to him and accepting the meal invitation will play a short cutscene and give you the following buffs for 60 real-world minutes:

Health +50
Stamina +150
Attack +5
Defense +10
Element Resistances +10
Skill: Lucky Meal
Skill: Insurance Meal
Skill: Defender Meal (Hi)

This meal will be completely free and override any other meal buff you currently have active. After accepting the meal, it will be an in-game day or two before Y’Sai invites you for another meal, and you’ll get a notification when it’s ready. Using the icon on the map, you can also make your Seikret automatically take you to him by dropping a waypoint on him, making this one of the better things to do before a difficult hunt.

Y’Sai is also the quest giver for, “A Leviathan’s Temper.”
